Ok so i finally got my act together. my father made me a team pole for the sleigh (which is only half painted in this photo..lol0 and i jimmy rigged my harness's so it would work out well and i finally got a chance to use my very expensive collars that i purchased last year anticipating driving a team but have never used except for single. this is my first time driving a team, though i have driven tandem (ok so i do things a little backwards..lol start out doign the most difficult stuff then work backwards..LOL).

these are my two stallions Mister Hi HO Silver and Candy Meadows Atomic Fireballe (bay) between the three of us there was some moments of confusion but everythign went fairly well considering none of us have done it before! lol sorry they were a little far away. Dad is a little digital camera illiterate! lol

Great job! I applaud you for doing tandem before and accomplishing it. Not sure I could ever drive them that way. Hoping to do my duo in a year so Hats off to you.

On top of you being able to enjoy the snow, would not work well here in the rain and mud.

:aktion033: Congrats - how exciting. It looks like so much fun, especially on a sled. I can't wait to team drive. I am picking up two minis next week who drive in a team - they are perfectly matched. Although, I've got a long way to go before team driving, I don't even know how to drive single. I'm going to take some lessons first...hopefully by summer time I'll have my team hooked up. Would love to see close ups of your sleigh and harnesses.

:aktion033: Comgratulations.that looks like a lot of fun, especially in the snow. I to also commend you on driving tandem first, team driving should come to you very easy, I'll be starting my stud in harness this year, he won't be able to drive for another 2, but I figure start him now.

:aktion033: :aktion033: Congrats lookin good!! I need to learn how to cart with one, it looks

like soo much fun.

Thanks guys. I'm happy that i've finally done it. It really wasn't that much more difficult than driving a single and certainly not quite as tricky as a tandem BUT what i found tricky was keeping the reins (since i used two sets of reins, not a split team set of reins) was to keep them even enough so that each horse was set where they needed to be. One tended to be a bit lazy and one tended to be a little hot (course he is a green horse to driving in general) and to keep enough tension on him to keep him slower and loose enough for the grey. I love to try new things and keep myself challenged. singles is GREAT but so hasn't the tandem and team so far.....someday i figured i'd aim for a trandem too...but that'll be a ways in comming!

Sonya,

You can veiw photo's of our sleighs at our web page www.boinky.net under "sleighs". i dont' think i have any photo's of my harness anywhere and those photo's that i posted were all i have on a horse so i'll have to see about doing more. The harness's are a standard regular driving cart harness except it's a bit more heavy duty than the average mini harness. it would be much better for CDE's ect than say breed ring. it has a much heavier made and broader saddle with a true tree in it. the leather is all double ply so it's stronger in that respect too. I just purchased collars and hames and i had to jimmy rig the britchen attachments and the pole straps since i didn't have anything made especially for them (neither is that hard to jimmy rig..just doens't look as nice).

Aww..thats awsome Congrats :aktion033:!!!I have driven a team of the Haflingers but not minis...only single...looks like fun!!If u ever get tired of it send them this way

i'd love to get a match for my haflinger..but i dont' know if that will ever happen! lol he's a bit of a brat too... and i was told by one of his previous owners that i tracked down that he tended to not work well with a team mate ..but i dont' know if that was just the team mate he had at the time..or all team mates..LOL

That looks like so much fun! :bgrin Hope to do that in the future! Thanks for sharing! :aktion033:
