What a terribly sad story! I had a beloved dog die under similar conditions. We had just arrived in the parking lot of the UW vet hospital, with me holding him for the hour's drive, and he convulsed before I could get him inside. I ran in with him and they tried everything but he was already dead.
Sometimes life keeps handing us tragedies, but I never say "Why me?" I always say, "Why NOT me?" Why should I be exempt from all life's miseries? I've had plenty of them, but I still count all my blessings every day.
I know this is very devastating for you. I lost my very first miniature foal, and I was SO looking forward to it. It was a Lucky Cowboy 17 grandchild, and it just killed me to lose it.
This is a business in which life can be very tenuous at times. I suppose there's nothing any of us can do except grieve for our loss and then try to rebuild for the future.
I do wish you luck in someday achieving your dreams.
