Here are a few pics of Casey and myself carving the pumpkin on the 30th with the Peanuts halloween special on in the background. Nostalgic? Me? No way lol.

Thanks for those pictures Matt! I just love seeing people in their homes doing neat things! I have a few comments:

1. I LOVE that fluffy kitty you have!! What a sweetheart! I went to the pound looking for fluffy kitties and brought home two short hairs...but they were older and needed a home. Next time!!

2. Did you save out the seeds and roast them? They are sooo good. I did mine and took them to school for the kids to try and they loved them. For future reference (and I still have one pumpkin for decoration that I haven't carved that I am going to gut just for the seeds!), just pick the seeds out, don't wash them, spread on a cookie sheet, drizzle on some olive oil and kosher salt (regular is OK) and stir it around. Bake at 250 for maybe an hour, stirring occassionally. You'll know they're getting done when you start hearing popping noises.

3. Look how THICK that pumpkin flesh is!! I bet you are going to have a hard winter.

Thanks again for the pics. I love that you are nostalgic, we need more of that!

lol. Thanks Jayne.

1. He is a sweetheart. He's a flame point Himalayan; one of the best cats I've ever had.

2. We're actually saving them all to plant for BIG pumpkins next year. I usually roast them and may roast a few (not like we need all of them lol).

3. It was a BIG pumpkin! I hope we don't have a hard winter

i think the picture of the steam coming from your cup is amazing ...such detail, what type of camera do you have......i have a kodak easyshare and detail is not a thing i tend to end up with lol

thanks for sharing!!!!

That is the biggest mother pumpkin I have ever seen oh my word Matt!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!

Hey, I wouldn't miss a Charlie Brown show for nothing either.

You did a great job too.

Awesome!

Those are great!

The pumpkin's cute. My giant one was green, so I made him into the Hulk. Looked pretty cool with green glow sticks inside instead of candles!

Thanks for sharing the pics!!!

Love the one of the steamy cup of coffee? Tea?

Liz

Great pics Matt. I hope you at least got busy and made some fresh, homemade pumpkin pies with that when Halloween was over!

Here in town(Rainy River) every year, they have a "Giant Pumpkin Festival". This year's winner topped out at over 1000 pounds!

Edited to add...OOPS, my mistake...it was NOT over 1000 pounds, it was only a little over 900 pounds. Here is a link to some pics. Click ion the thumbnails.

How did you even lift that thing!?

Nobody really takes Halloween seriously over here in Australia. My hubby is Canadian and can't believe how 'quiet' things are around here this time of the year.

We did dress the kids up and sent them off trick or treating. My eldest son was scared off by one of the neighbours who told him " I don't believe in that crap". Hmmmm, talk about killing the fun!

Anyway, efforts are great. good for you!
