Keeping in shape over summer

I haven't been driving my mini since we have hit the triple digit heat index. How can I keep him in condition over the summer? I'm working mornings so that isn't really an option but I suppose early evening would be ok temperature wise.

When it's really hot I work mine shortly before bed. It's not a lot cooler, but the sun isn't beating down on us.

A good option. Sometimes the mosquitos are out then, and I'm too tired (lazy). Good idea to take a flashlight, maybe, and wear orange in case it gets dusky.

When I was growing up in Ft. Walton, Fl, mornings were out because of school, then college. What worked best for us was after dinner, and a lot of slow work, walking, jogging, dressage patterns, and low cavaletti work.
