I found this link and thought this might be fun to try! I am going to use garbage bag ties instead of the glue gun though, I always make a mess with that thing!!

Thats a cute little tree. I have found an alternative to hot glue guns. You can even get it at Walmart. It's in a regular plastic glue like bottle (Like Aileen's glue) and it's see thru...it's called Fabri-Tac. Glues just like a glue gun, fast dries clear....and you don't have to worry about burning your fingers. I use it on everything....wood, fabric, plastic......etc....

Great idea, will have to make some to put into my craft sale next year.

Although I do use a glue gun, and hate the threads you find all over, I take a hair dryer and "melt" the threads. On this project I will use the hot glue gun for the garland, but I loved the idea of the twist-ties for the lights. I much prefer a tacky or white glue as they have far superior holding power.
