Lost a horse this morning...

Everyone was fine last night, went down this morning and had a filly down. was weak and cold, got her in the back of the truck to take her up to the house where it was warm. We never made it to the house before she passeed. She died with me petting her and telling her everything was ok... guess i was wrong.

We have no idea what might have happened... She was fine last night.. She was running and bucking before we put them in..she even tried to kick Kenny (my hubby) because she didnt want to go in. We have only had this filly since sept. she was one of the ones we bought at the Quiet Dell auction.. We had such high hopes for this filly as she had nice bloodlines and I was hoping to show her and eventually use her as a broodmare. We havent been able to get ahold of my vet yet to see if he has any ideas as to what might have caused this. As I am typing this she is being laid to rest in the top of a knoll in our field..

Thank You Everyone.. this was very much a shock to us and this is the first time we have had a horse just die so suddenly.. when my saddlebred died i knew it was coming he was 31 years old. He died in his sleep the night before the vet was to come out to put him down.
