This is my ASPC/AMHR Maiden mare. She is around 310 days gestation. I broght her in last night and she laid down alot and was rubbing her butt and neck along the walls. She seemed very uncomfortable. Please let me know what you think. Thanks. View attachment 52437View attachment 52438These pictures were taken today.

These photos were taken today. In the last 2 days she has been swishing her tail alot and laying down alot. She has barely a udder. She's also been biting at her sides as well.
Looks a bit more elongated at the top of her vulvaNot really. This was her vulva yesterday View attachment 52456
So is it true when some maidens don't bag up fully before labor?? If they don't, do they bag up after foaling or?Looks a bit more elongated at the top of her vulva
Depends on the mare the most common thing I have found with maidens is getting a larger bag once the foal starts nursingSo is it true when some maidens don't bag up fully before labor?? If they don't, do they bag up after foaling or?

Here's her vulva today. How old is she out of curiosity
Vulva today. And the top of her tail is semi jiggly. Her udder no further development. And all she wants to do is eat.How is the area around the top of her tail? That will get soft and relax close to foaling. Also, you may find a bit of "bloody show" inside the vulva as the cervix dilates. But the most concrete way I've found to anticipate foaling is when the colour of the fluid from the udder changes from clear/yellow to a milky white and the pH drops.
Please keep us posted!
