I haven't posted in a while... more time on vacations. But the papers are graded, the chores are done, and I only have two more bindings to sew on before my first craft sale... so I have time.

Mark and I are empty nesters now, so we have more time to enjoy the three lakes that surround us. Kayaks help! We bought them last month and fit in 5 trips before it got too cold.

I have never been to New York and to be honest I didn't know there were places like this in New York (I'm very sheltered I guess) I want to come visit

I was surprised years ago to learn many folks think of New York City when they think of NY. But, most of NY is country. There are the Adirondack Mountains and the Finger Lakes--such beautiful areas. NYC is just one spot. Come visit!!

It wasn't an alligator.

That trip was the only time we weren't on a lake. It's also the only time I dared to take my camera. I like the lake, even when it's threatening white caps, Mark like the river.

Here's the lake--where the river lead into it. When we head to the lake though we launch at the other end. This is Canandaigua Lake, the other one we've gone on is Keuka Lake.

Rebecca--Rosie photos will be next. Gosh I love that girl.

Karla, Those are awesome shots, thanks for sharing, can't wait to see the pics of Rosie. Canandaigua Lake brings back good memories of the times I spent at La Mist Kennels in Shortsville NY, we used to train all around candaigua and go shopping there

Main Street, Canandaigua has awesome shops--my personal favorite is Sweet Expressions. Oh yum. now, Penn Yan has even better shops!!

Angie--I love doing anything on or in the water, you know that. We talked about getting kayaks for three years, but the kids kept us hopping on weekends. You sure gave an encouraging push at the right time though! The joy I get from kayaking is hard to describe. Being suspended on water in the expanse of a lake with the freedom to move as I wish is indescribable. When Mark and I head out, it's usually for 2 hours, so we're exhausted when we get back. We love to hit a fast food place to recuperate and extend our time together. I miss my kids, but boy, oh, boy, this quiet time is sweet.
