I started training my last QH 2 Years ago He started out well but as we went on didnt seem to be cut out for the show ring. I have had a bad neck for along time and his silliness tore me up.I still have his mom we will do some small show this fall but bought the first mini to keep the mare company while I was showing her son, and fell totally in love with how mellow and loving they are.sedeh said:Welcome from Southern Oregon! I'm also a big horse to mini's convert. Mine was due to an accident. What made you get "into" minis'?

There are 4 vets in the practice I use, my primary vet doesnt do minis but 1 of the others does I have a call in to pick her brain. They are 30 min. away at night.susanne said:Welcome!Thank you. If Abby is in foal Im gonna need lots of help. The books Ive been reading on mini foaling have scared me to death. I have had "big" horses for over 30 years. Im new to the minis.
You've found a great resource with this forum! That and the fact that you're here seeking knowledge will serve you well if your mare is indeed pregnant. Is your vet knowledgeable about minis? If not, you might want to look around for one who is, who is also reasonably close to you, just to cover all of your bases.
I agree with the others...you have two beautiful horses there, and it sounds like they are very lucky to have you as an owner!
