My Mom is in ICU

Hi everyone i just wanted to sit for a minute and let out my feelings ,,,, 29 and i'm scared to death Mom (69yrs) has been visiting me for the holidays ,i had to call the ambulance and rush her to the hospital (seemed like it took them for ever to get to my place ,,,

My mom is a diabetic has been for years ,she passed out lastnight became cold clammy the worst feeling i have ever felt in my life ...I could get no response ..

Got her to the hospital her blood pressure was 80/40 and her blood sugar was an outstanding 1200, they say she also has elevated enzymes(sp), they did not let me know anything for three hours scared me to death , they had her hooked to an ng tube and a ventilator , this evening they removed the vent and ng tube , She is stable now and resting well . Blood sugar is starting to level out ...

One of my best friends is a brittle diabetic and these things can sneak up on you so quickly!

Change for a diabetic is a hard thing. So many things effect the blood sugar level. Everything from food intake, excersise level and differences in their daily routine. Once things get back to near normal give her all the support you can. I will keep you and your mom in my thoughts and prayers.
