IF she lightens up, it will be because she is turning Gray, not because she is Palomino. Foals have a tendency to get darker, not lighter.

I agree that the foal looks silver bay and may turn grey like momma. Is it absolutely for certain that the mare was a palomino before she greyed out, or might she be silver bay instead? Just curious, because there are a number of silver bays that get mistaken for palomino
