Please? The poor kid is just devastated. Her fiance is an ex-addict. He had a rough childhood. I know, I know....once an addict, always an addict. They've been together for 4 years now and live here with us.

To make a long story short, some of my meds have come up missing over the last couple months. We sat down and had a family meeting to discuss it (we also have a 17 y/o son here) Of course....nobody took anything. Another month goes by....more of my meds are missing. Again, denials all the way around. Suddenly, the last few days, finace has some stuff come up missing and he mentions that our son was home alone. Red flags go up in both my and hubby's head that this is looking like a set up. We had a big confrontation about it last night....more denials. It was decided that I would be taking both boys to the doctor today for drug tests. Our daughter is upset and I can see in her face that she is thinking her true love may not be what she thought he was. We all go to bed steaming mad and upset. About 12:30am, I hear finaces car start up and leave(he's got a bad muffler) daughter comes to me crying saying that he finally confessed to it all. He left to go to his grandparents(they raised him) with the promise that he's gonna try and find a rehab today.

My daughter is heartbroken, please prayer for her to keep strong. Also. prayers for the fiance to get the help he needs.

Sending prayers to you and your daughter. Being an addict is hard enough but trying to love one is even harder, I know. Your daughter will have to come to the conclusion that she can't help him, only he can help himself, if he wants to, please also get some help for her as she is probably blaming herself and feeling very low. Sending prayers to her from NC.

Prayers for everybody coming your way. I agree that your daughter is probably feeling that she somehow let him down, or should have been able to help him more. Obviously he's the only one who can help himself. Good luck to you all!!

I feel the pain your daughter is going through. She is trying to carry the pain of his problem (trust me been there done that and have the t-shirt). With Gods help he might get over his problem and be worthy of the trust and love your daughter has put in him. He will be a very long time fixing the trust issue but thats his bag of hammers to carry. My thoughts and prayers are with your daughter and with the support of you and your family she will get through this roadblock in her life. Best of luck Geese.

Prayers coming your way for everyone involved. You need to tell your daughter it wasn't her fault and that you can only help someone who is willing to help themselves.

My prayers are with her and your family!

my thoughts are for all of you--like lyn said, it affects everyone...and i have had family members with those problems...

I am faced with something similar only actually worse. My son's girlfriend is an addict. They have a 3 month old baby. My son is an addict as far as she is concerned. He has gone so far as to steal from us to hock items for money to buy her drugs. We have tried to help him and he does ok for a short while, but keeps going back to her and it starts again. My stress level is way over the top. I feel for you and your daughter.......

My prayers are with YOU in this matter, to have the strength to be there for your daughter and comfort her. Being a mother is such a hard job, and wanting to fix all your childrens hurts can be so painful.

Your daughter is young and yes in pain, but she's growing and no matter how this works out it will make her a stronger person.

In my younger days I always gravitated towards people that needed "fixed". I finally figured out that the reasoning behind this was if I "fixed" them then they'd owe me and never leave me, sad but true. I finally learned I was worth more and deserved more in life, but it wasn't easy and it didn't happen overnight.

Hugs to you for strength mom, you are her rock right now.

Sharon...good thoughts and prayers are coming your way for you and your family. I hope all this gets fixed especially for this time of year.....hoping for peace in your family.

Prayers for everyone and a big (((HUG))) for your daughter, and a bigger (((HUG))) for you MOM for being there for her! Corinne

Thanks everyone so much. This is a very trying time for us. We're gonna hold a big family meeting tonight to try and sort things out. I wish this had come to a head a while back, but we just didn't have the right stuff for a confrontation. Unfortunately, it is making for a very stressfull and uneasy Christmas.

Sharon, my love and prayers go out to you all. {{{{Hugs}}}}
