This week we worked on the foaling barn stalls and put up a product called Plas-tex by Parkland Performance, which is made of 100% recycled materials (milk bottles etc.) on the barn walls. We are extremly excited about the product and think it will not only increase the light in the stalls (this has happened already), but also make a surface that will be easy to clean which is important with all the foaling (blood, urine, manure). It has no odor and is mold and mildew resistant. It is 100% waterproof.

The mares and foals should stand out more on Mare Stare

Here is a link to the product: Plas-tex

So far, cleaning is very easy. Our contractor found it at Home Depot.

Were your sheets the 4 x 12? How much was it a sheet? I was thinking of doing my entire barn with a similar product. Keep us updated on how it holds up.

THANKS for posting!

This is similar to - or maybe the same thing - as what I have in my wash room. Has worked very well, light & bright, easy to clean (although hair dye will stain it lol). Never thought of using it in stalls, makes sense though.

Would you be so kind as to post a picture of it installed. Did you use a paste and put it over the wall or are you using it as a wall? I don't know how it could be used as a wall but it looks great on the site. Thanks

The sheets are 4 x 8 feet. They have connectors for the seams which we used as our stalls are 10 x 10. I will get a photo later today and post.

We had existing painted plywood walls. For our application (not new contruction) we screwed the panels in place with stainless steel screws. They can be glued in place on new plywood walls.

They come in white and almond, (and grey and black for special order). White was what Home Depot had and we used.

So far, super easy to clean. We just went 4 feet up and after that our stalls will still be painted as the minis do not affect the higher areas.

You can use just soap and water to clean them, even Clorox Clean Up (which we use on blood from births). You can not use abrasives (Comet etc, or steel wool). But there is no need to as it cleans so easily.

The added benefit was how much lighter the stalls are. The lights in the barn are enhanced by the white walls. The Mare Stare Camera images are brighter too.

l love ours does and pretty much is the same thing as you had a link to except ours is called puck board..had and used it for over 10 years now and wouldn't ever do stalls without it again...easy to keep clean bright doesn't crack or dent and saves tails from being rubbed out on wood walls which is the main reason we put it up and very safe for new foals nosing around and rubbing up against it..

I took some photos of the barn stall walls with the new material on them. As you can see they are screwed in place. With new construction they can be glued on.

As I said we only went four feet high and the rest is a painted wall.
