Here is snickers, the newest rescue. He was turned over by his owners because they could no longer care for him. He is in great shape but a little fat. What color would you call him? I'm not good with pinto markings at all. I don't have his papers yet but they are coming. They were foreclosed on so they had packed up and were moving when he got dropped off.

He's a silver bay, tobiano and either frame or splash (or both) (and sabino is always a possibility)

I say silver bay tovero-tobiano with sabino and possibly splash. I suppose lwo is a possibility too, but I think sabino for sure with that roaning on his face. My tobianos with sabino a lot of times have the one blue eye.

Good for you for taking him in!

Thanks for the color check. I never have any idea on the pintos. They are just too hard and confusing.

The blue eye(s) from splash or frame, tobiano and sabino (and DW) don't cause blue eyes.

sabino causing blue eyes is still debateable.I have a tobiano mare with the sabino roaning, brown eyes. She is minimal tobiano and has zero facial white. I have bred her to a solid chestnut stallion (no pinto background, he's Kahokas bred) and my few spot appaloosa (he also has zero pinto background). All 4 foals had at least one blue eye and all but the appy had sabino roaning. One had a blaze, the rest no facial white.

Mare was tested and is negative for lwo

*your boy is tobiano and sabino for sure. I would test for lwo if he will be bred or if you're curious

I agree with Tobiano and Sabino as color "Patterns" for sure. Likely also carrying Splash and/or Frame (LWO) as either of those will cause blue eyes.

Color is Silver Bay. Very pretty boy!
