I've seen one just like this before, Drove me nuts so I spent all day trying to figure the dumb thing out. I never got it but my math minded mechanical engineer boyfriend got it in under 45 seconds.

Nicole, :saludando:

That's so cool! Can you show this one to him and see if he can crack it? It's been driving me TOTALLY BANANAS for DAYS now, and I just HAVE to know!

It can't be wrong unless you mess up your math.

There are only so many answers it can be (it will always be a multiple of 9) and all of those have the same symbol. They change the symbol randomly so it isn't obvious. Your answer should always be one of the following numbers: 9 18 27 36 45 54 63 72 81 because if you do the math correctly those are the only answers possible.

It took me a week to figure this out several years ago, lol.

(edit because I left an extra number in my list that didn't belong and wasn't a multiple of 9, lol. I are not so gewd at teh maths and stuff)

hmm first time I did it and it wasnt right, and I used google to add/subtract for me

I sat here with a calculator to make sure, and when the initial number was 21, and the final answer gave me the symbol for something in the 70's...................it was wrong.

If I used their number 43 (when I did it) it came up wrong every time otherwise it was right each time

They must have a flaw in their program, then. The other version of this (I can't find the link to it, it has a wizard and a crystal ball) was always right, and you could check it by looking at the multiples of 9 (because if you do the math exactly as directed it will always come up with a multiple of 9) and seeing that they all have the same symbol. If they are getting them wrong it either has to be a math error or a programing error. If multiple people are getting wrong answers even after checking their math then someone screwed up a line of code somewhere and left a flaw in the game.

Ok, I picked the number 2, yes I know it says to pick 2 numbers , so the other number was 0. The final answer was 0 and it got it right. :new_shocked:

Usually I can disect these things, but that one had me pretty good. I read what others posted on here and then scanned for the multiples of 9 and....you got it.
