I know there are alot of mini horse folk in the OKC area.

Watching the world news this morn, is everyone okay in the OKC area.

Looks like the parts of the town was flooded.

As far as I know, the mini people in the area are ok. I've never seen rain like yesterday before! The water rescues you are seeing on TV were taking place about a mile and a half from me. Actually, about halfway between me and Charlotte and Frank. Meandering creeks became raging rivers in just a few minutes time. It was incredible and there were a number of water rescues. Hats off to the fire department, police and highway patrol for getting these rescues done quickly and efficiently. No lives lost in the greater OKC area.

I had some fence washing as did Charlotte and Frank. Theirs is pretty severe, but luckily all horses are ok.

I heard from Diana at Mystic Rock and she got stranded trying to get to the airport. Both she and her son had to be resuced. Said the water was up on the sides of the doors. But she is at home now and taking a "mental break" LOL!

Becky, sounds too close for comfort. Glad you and the minis are alright.

Julie thanks for the info on Diana.

Rain~~~Rain~~~Rain go away!

Everyone south central OKC and south were OK. Norman where Pat (RosaRoca), Leesa (Daystar), myself, and several others are got little over 3/4" by later afternoon.

It did rain most of the night though and was supposed to go east with heavy rains all night so cancelled the trip I had planned to go pick up horses at the OK/AR line until later this week.

Heard from the Roberson's (Rocking M) they are flooded but not cut off so for now they are fine. I heard from Donna in Choctaw and they are OK as well as Wilma (TeaCup).

Talked to Mary Bennett her barn is flooded from the rain. Judy, her sister, her

mother and brother-in-law were all evacuated from Judy's place. Water was leaking in the family room door when they made them leave. Lost all their hay bailing equipment etc, but at least they are all ok. Got their cars, trucks, clothes and important papers out before they left.

My sister works in OKC around 39th. She left her car two blocks from work and waded the rest of the way. Took these photos from her office:

I am not sure why drivers drove into those flooded areas?

By the time she got off work that evening, she was able to retrieve her car.

I'm sorry to hear of all the miniature folks that were affected. Hope everyone is getting back to normal now.

It looks like some of the cars had been parked and then got swept up in the flood. I know that at a place we used to live (AFTER we moved away, thank heavens!) cars were picked up by the rushing water and rammed into houses, etc. And sometimes people can't tell how flooded a street is until they drive into it, or think that their vehicle can make it through. Not a good idea, but panic can take over.

Here's hoping that the flooding has ended!
