As for me, I'd just go for it and decopade it...but it would be interesting to see how others go through process on you tube. I've seen some neat walls on tv done with magazine photos, love letters and newspaper. Looks like a fun and easy way to make a wall interesting.

If you do decoupage you better like it for a lot of years as it won't be easy to take back off. But if you just use glue it won't be durable at all.

There are wallpapers made to look like old newspaper.

I work a lot of puzzles and use a product called hod podge to bind them together, I would think you could use it as an adhesive to bind to the wall, but what to cover it with, I don't have a clue. I would assume sometype of sealent. I also refinish furniture and sometimes add pictures of flowers or animals then seal with furniture varnish, I don't know if it would work on a wall, but maybe you could try on a small spot and see how it goes. Just a thought but maybe you could go to a craft store like Micheals and ask someone they might know.

I think, whatever you use would in some years time yellow & flake off.

I would get a couple of huge poster frames at a craft place and make some ART with the newspapers and frame them in those frames and hang them up. Would look very cool!

thanks everyone i did,nt think i would get any answers.

ive got some 1901 to 1925 old news papers coming and its going on the wall behind a bar. half way up the wall is jarrah wood then the top will be old news papers...well take some photos when its finished

WOW that sounds so cool, I have saved papers from when Elvis died, and from Princess Diana, maybe I'll make something too.

I have two WHOLE newspapers from around 1830's and 1850's. I have them in frames as they are. I can take them out and read them if I want and they are not ruined. Once you coat or tear them up, there's no fixing them back.

I wish I could read yours before they go on your wall!

Instead of using regular wall paper paste, you might consider investing in acid-free glue to attach them. I think you would be better pleased with the long term result. I don't think I would coat them with anything. If it is an area where there will be smoke or cooking you might cover them with plexiglass or acrylic sheets.

Old newspapers/magazines have a high rag content, which is why they have survived.

I have a newspaper that has the death notice of Martha Washington. It is in fine condition.
