It's now day 3 without power, not sure just how much longer it will be off......they hope to have most up and running this weekend, but then they told people just down our road about 2 miles it could be 3 weeks for them

as we live in a very rural part of Arkansas, sort of up in the hills.....

Trees are down everywhere, the pictures don't do it any justice....it really looks worse around town that when the tornado came through last year. Fences are down, powerlines snapped.

Of course I have a mare that's due anytime, has now begun to wax - we have had the generator up and running, but now with no power at the house either, a generator at the barn doesn't help the camera situation....maybe she'll hold out for warmer weather this weekend.

But here are some pictures from what North-North Central Ar looks like still....

And the pear trees that I just loved down the drive......

that used to look like this (actually bigger as this picture is over a year or so old)

Hurrican Ike did this - they day after we returned from AMHR Nationals.....

Oh Erica! We're thinking of you as well as Belinda, Sherry Martin, Jill Comfort, Patti Davis, and Larry! I'm sure I'm accidently leaving someone out. I heard from Leah Johnson that Jill is extremely worried about her mother, Patti. She hasn't been able to get hold of her and she had a mare due anytime as well. Try to stay warm!

Give me a hurricaine ANYDAY! I can always cool off, you can't always warm up.

Oh my god, Erica!!!! That is crazy!!!! The pictures comparing your driveway from Hurricane Ike, to this storm are wild..... We lost a ton of trees and some fence posts from an ice storm back in December.... The storm you got looks a lot worse though!

And is that Ms. Geisha that I see in a couple of those pics? She looks great!!!!

Hope that you get your power back soon!!!

Geeze what a mess. I'm glad you and your family and horses are all okay.

It's so sad that the pear trees are completely gone now. They lined your driveway beautifully.

I do have to say, that first picture is amazing.

Hope Echo holds out for a couple more days and if not, I sure hope all goes well.

Oh no, Erica!!!!!!!! I had no idea it was that bad!!!! I hope you get your power AND some warmer, dry weather SOON!!!

Poor you Erica that's just a horrible mess I wouldn't wish on anyone. That storm just barely missed us. We had one here a few years ago and were without power for 3 weeks so I totally feel for you and the rest of our Arkansas buddies. Lets all keep our fingers crossed for warm weather to melt that stuff fast. Hang in there girl!

What a mess. We here in Michigan know all about ice storms. We did not get ice but more snow so far we have more than what we get for the whole season. Hope everything goes ok with your mare. Please stay safe and hope they get your electric on soon.

OUCH. Seeing those trees split and down makes me cringe. And then you have to worry about frozen water troughs with no power too! Let's hope those mares who are due cross their legs just a little bit longer......

Oh my gosh Erica, what a total mess! We had an ice storm that was pretty nasty, but nothing near like that. We are sitting in over a foot of snow right now which i guess i should stop complaining about after seeing that. A little ice is pretty on the tree's, but that is a total nightmare. Stay safe, hopefully your staying home and safe

Oh my goodness I don't envy you at this moment and what your having to endure.... I hope for your sake that the power is back on immediately. I'm not fond of cold weather myself so I empathize with you.

Ouch Eria! Sorry you are having to deal with that storm. Hope they get the power back on for you soon!

I feel your pain.

I got hit back in December pretty badly. You can't fully get the view of it unless you are actually there. Its such a beautiful seen when your not looking at downed trees or powerlines. I hope you get your power back soon!

Stay Warm!

Wow that is pretty bad! We have a lot of snow but no ice storms yet. Those are not fun especially when you've got a mare that's looking close (I'm watching her now

) I hope your power gets restored very soon! Stay safe

Oh Erica, I feel so bad for you all in the Ice storm areas

hope you get some relief soon. and some power

It does sound exhausting alone but with marestare on top of it all

Think Spring

What a shame - such beautiful trees, gone almost overnight

I know what it is like to have no power and be freezing cold - we just went thru it around Christmas time with 3 ft of snow added in for "fun", hope those girls hold off until it warms up and the power comes back on - generators are great, but don't do a lot for heat.

Hang in there gal . . .

Holy crap Erica!

I had no idea it was that bad! I feel terrible for you guys. All those beautiful trees gone, no electricity. Glad none of your horses have been hurt by all the snapping trees and branches.

Hope your electric is back on and SOON!! :DOH!

Yep that's Ms. Geisha....at what 23yrs old??

Other than a few gray hairs, she looks and acts at most half of her age.....

And here I am grumbling and complaining because we have ice and crispy snow on the gound...but nothing comparable to what you have!! OMG.....that is unbelievable!!! I hope you get your power up and running very soon!!!
