Yesterday we went on a pleasure drive organized by Carolyn Aarup of Dakota Wind Farm for the MHCO. It took place in Owen Sound (about a 1 hour drive north of here) on the Tom Thomson Trail, one of the few that is open to horses. We had a blast and I think the horses did too. After the drive we had a picnic lunch then we had to leave but some of the others went on another drive down by the water, then all were invited to a barbeque at DWF in Meaford. Here are a few of the pics:

group shot, it was hard to get everyone lined up so a couple were missing.

The scenery on the trail was gorgeous.

Thanks Joy, I had it made by a local mennonite, he makes lots of mini carts and sleighs too. My next wish is a sleigh, hope Santa is listening

That's a neat cart and Munchie looks great!

You might try raising your tugs just slightly to bring the shafts up but otherwise everything looks perfect. What a fun drive! There's nothing like getting out there with a group of buddies...it's so much more fun than going by yourself.

I think we had 12 or 13 with one team. It was a perfect day, a little overcast so it wasn't too hot for the horses but it rained before we got there but not at all after we arrived. It was great being by the water too.

Wow, what a fun group you all have there!

I lent my camera to a curious but kind onlooker and asked him if he would take a picture for me. He got this great shot of the whole gang!

I am sorry about your tugs Yvonne! I meant to come back with my hole punch and fix those tugs up for you but somehow forgot to do that! I talked Debbie Scriven into coming down from New Liskeard, a 6 hour drive, for the fun drive and brought a cart and horse up for her to use. I got too busy getting her and my horse into harness and cart and forgot all about you - tell Munchie I'm sorry!!!

There were 11 carts and 13 people went on the drive. Several more of our members joined us at Carolyn's for the barbecue afterwards but they missed a great drive! It was overcast but warm without being unbearably hot. The rain stopped because Michelle sacrificed herself got all dressed up in yellow plastic rain wear for us and did a stop-the-rain-dance
