Prayer Request

Hi all - I have a request for prayers for a dear friend. One of my closest friends (30+/- years), her 20 year old son was murdered this past Sunday in his home. To say my friend is devastated does not describe the situation.

This is the worst thing I've personally ever experienced, and I'm really only indirectly affected - as I lost a boy I thought of as a nephew, but my friend lost her son. He was shot in his home and brain dead on arrival. His parents made a wonderful decision and donated his organs so five people have benefited from his passing, including her sister's friend's husband that went from 1569 on the waiting list for a liver. That surgery was successfully completed this morning.

Today I was with her, her husband and her son's father at his apartment to collect some of his things. People came by to pay their respects to the family including his roommates that found Blake.

The outpouring of love for this wonderful young man has been amazing from his college friends, fraternity brothers to people that lived in his apartment complex to family and friends. He is leaving a huge gap in so many lives. The three men that murdered him are in custody awaiting arraignment later this week. The LA Police get an awful rap, but they worked around the clock to get these thugs. They have been sensitive and compassionate with my friend in such an awful time.

If you can, please send a prayer for my friend Tanya, and her son, Blake Anthony Crawford, may he rest in peace.

I'm still away from home as tomorrow we have to go look at his gravesite in Oceanside. To anyone else that has ever lost a child - I can only say my sympathies and prayers are with you - this has to be the worst experience a person can have.

Blessings to you for being such a good friend.

My brother was also murdered and he was 21. It is something his parents will never ever get over and it changes the entire family in ways no one can imagine. I'm glad you are there for your friend.

Just to warn you.....If the murderer(s) are caught and brought to trial, this will just extend the intense grief for the entire family. Awful details may be revealed. I hope you can be there to help them through that as well.

I am so very sorry . I cant even imagine loosing one of my children as I just losed my mom and that is the hardest thing i have ever went through....sending prayers your way..And may god find a way to ease all the pain.

I just don't understand what this world is coming too.. I feel so sorry for your friend. They have our prayers! Sometimes I wonder if there is anything good left. We lost our son one yr ago from an auto accident, but this has got to be the worse, this I can't ever ever imagine. Bless there hearts.

I feel so sick about this and just heard from Sandy about this post. My deepest condolences to Tanya and her husband and I know she is grateful to have you there.

For those reading this post, Tanya is like a sister to Michelle and a very big part of her extended family. They talk constantly and Michelle's daughter spends weeks at a time with Tanya and hero worships Blake.
