Well, I need you all once again. Our middle son Corey, had injuried his back 16 days ago. He thought that he had maybe pinched a nerve or a disk was injuried. He repeatedly went to the Dr as the pain become unbearable for him. Each day instead of getting better he was getting worse. The Dr had him on extremely strong medications and it didn't make a dent in his pain. Finally, they drugged him up enough to give him a MRI, and the results were to say the least SHOCKING.
IT was discovered that Corey has tumors in his spinal canal. Things moved pretty fast after that, he was admitted to Loyola Univ Hosp. in Chicago, Illinois. in ICU ward A group of Dr's took over, and of course more tests. He has lost some function of his lower body already. The Dr's didn't fool around. Corey is in surgery right now, they took him back at noon and have started the surgery. I wanted so much to be with him. He didn't want me there. His wife is there with him of course and has never left his side. Corey and Astrid have been high school sweethearts and have been together for many years. They have a gorgeous little boy two years ago, and its been hard on Corey cause he has never spent the nite since Cameron has been born without him.
He has been is such horrible pain even with a morphine drip which only temp numbed the pain. He is scared of not being able to raise his son.
I won't go down the road of losing my son, we have done that two years ago, and I refuse to go down that road. Corey took the death of Joshua very hard.
As far as cancer? We won't know until after they get the tumors out. But that doesn't seem to be a worry to his Dr's at this point. Right now there main concern is to not totatlly paralize him. As one of the tumors has rapped its legs in his nerve bundles and they have to untangle that mess. The Dr told me that the spinal cord doesn't like to be fooled with and its an unforgiven enitiy.
I am just scared to death for Corey and we sure can use your prayers.
Thank you all once again.
Lara and David
