Premie filly in critical condition

Sudden squirty Horrible diarrhea started late last night, Lucy stopped nursing, became dehydrated very fast couldn't nurse, walk or stand by this am. Vet came out early this am, and gave metronidazole,biosponge, and I imediatley decided to take her to U. of Pa. New Bolton center. I just returned from taking her there. She is in bad shape, has a central IV going(jugular) they drew blood cultures, a bunch of lab work and blood gases. I have complete faith in New Bolton. They are miracle workers and if anyone can save her, they can.

Lucy is in ICU with her Mama, my Misty. Misty had to go too, since we will need her milk to keep coming if Lucy makes it.

This is scarey, poor Lucy. I think its gonna be really expensive too. Its never been cheap there, but I have to save Lucy! I am SO AFRAID!!!!!!!!!!!!

They started her on Pennicillan,Amikacin, continued the carafate, and she is on other stuff, but I can't remember the names, I am too upset.

If you can spare some more of those strong Forum prayers, I would appreciate it.

I thought we were out of the woods, but boy, was I wrong!!!!

Thank you for the e-mail Robin (have replied to it). I just cannot believe this is happening, it is just so sad.

Everyone this end is sending prayers and powerful healing thoughts across the miles to your little girl (and to Misty). I know that you are doing everything possible for her, and that it is now in God's hands - he will guide the vets I'm sure - but if collective prayer can move mountains, then all your friends on here will give a helping hand to aid little Lucy's recovery.
