Questions on health papers needed for Congress...

Okay, from my understanding for a horse to enter the state of illinous (for congress), they must have a recent 30 day coggins AND some other type of health paper issued by Illinous state?

Do they need proof (such as a copy ext) of this when you send in your entrys or do you just have to have it to show at Congress when you get there?

How exactly does this work to get the health papers needed to enter Illinous? I am just soooo confused. Have all the congress entrys filled out, mailing them out tommarow morning ...just have to figure out this health paper stuff

Is it something special for Illinois?

Anytime I've shown out of state, I need a coggins no more than 12 mos old, and a health certificate from the vet that is no more than 30 days old.

No Jill, this is different.

This is an entry permit that i think (going off memory) you have to obtaine from the Illinois agriculre department (or something like that lol) along with coggins and health papers ext.

I just dont know how we go about receiving one of these entry permits though.

Actually going into Illinois your vet has to call and get a permit number for the health certificate.

You will need a coggins, a 30 day health paper that your vet will call and get your Ill permit number. I did not send anything like that in with my entry as my health papers are only good for 30 days.

Illinois permit number that your vet will issue with your health papers

if you do a net search for the illinois dept of ag it will give you the phone number to give your vet to call and get your entry number.
