I did email Amy, sticker on the front page again, and you cannot see, but pages are warped because of the dampness ...

with no wrapping

I do not blame Amy this is to do with the company that does these labels & mailing?

Thanks to Amy, we where able to surprise Ameila Murray in her own column

(North of the Border) on page 34

Anyone else get the address sticker on their front page without wrapping?

I just got my Journal and World in yesterday's mail and both came in shrink wrapped plastic and the label was on the plastic.

Mine comes like that label shouldn't be hard to read for the postal people mine are always wrapped tight never any damage to the mag itself except what l do to it trying to get the darn thing unwrapped with a sharp knife..

I haven't got mine yet but in the past they have come both ways. Some are in a plastic lined paper envelope and some have the label glued to the front cover. I'm just happy to get them ;)

Ours arrived yesterday, but it was wrapped in plastic with the sticker on the outside..... Wonder how yours didn't get the wrapping?

Our last few issues have come the same way, no wrapping and the label stuck on the front cover. I think the Canadian members all get theirs that way now, except for those that pay for 1st class mailing. 1st Class means they have to be wrapped. Regular bulk postage items don't need to be wrapped, and because of cost we aren't getting the wrapping any more. Kind of too bad.

US members apparently still get the wrapping, no matter if they pay for 1st class or not?

My $76 membership cost me $96 with exchange this year, so I can't say that I feel like paying $$ more just to get plastic wrap on my magazines...usually they arrive in good shape and it's annoyance only to have the label stuck over top the cover photo...but with the weather this week (rain/freezing rain/snow) if the Journal is in my mailbox today it will be soggy...rural group mailboxes are not weatherproof, and the mail I picked up last night was decidedly damp.

Yep, mine came the same way as yours...no plastic and label stuck to the front. Luckily I got our mail before it could get too damp.

OK I just got my email returned, did not get too Amy.

Went to AMHR : Contacts: Journal emailed again.

I think this was discussed some time ago and I think everyone came to a conclusion that Canada members don't get their wrapped

Just curious...what is the shipping difference of the US and Canadian magazines? I don't mean the difference that they charge us, but what is actually ON the package/magazine.

Another thing that bothers me...do we not already pay a higher membership fee to supposedly pay for the difference in shipping this magazine...if so...why DO we have to pay extra AGAIN, for 1st Class mail, to get it wrapped?

We don't pay to get it wrapped, we pay for 1st class mailing, and it's my understanding that anything mailed 1st class comes in a wrapper/envelope. The US members pay more for 1st class mailing too but sounds like it doesn't add anything to their wrapping

I am in Southwestern Ontario and mine came wrapped and in excellent condition.

I must have paid for first class, but I didn't think I had, because the "Scottish" in me doesn't allow me to be extravagant

However if the people in the know say that's how it happens, then I am glad I was frivolous.

I'm in southern Ontario and received my Dec. Journal yesterday unwrapped and with the sticker on the front. I paid the extra for first class mailing and, usually it comes wrapped and in a timely manner. There was one issue sometime last year I think it was, that had the mailing sticker right on the horse's muzzle and covering most of his face. There was a big discussion about it on here at that time (obviously, mine wasn't the only one that came that way). After that, each issue has been wrapped except for this one now.

In the greater scheme of things, it just doesn't matter.

Thank you all for your replies.

Amy had told me and others before to make sure they know.

Which I have done, they cannot do anything, if they do not know?

Wanted to make sure it was just not me, 1st. class. or just Canada.
