I have limited space for a round pen but I plan to make 1 soon to start training to exercise. Can u please tell me what the minimum size could be. My horses range from 28-36.5in ages yearling to 10yo. thanks for the help.

Mine's about a 40'... I wouldnt go any smaller if I had 32"+ horses...

Just chiming in to agree with the 40'. That's the size mine is and it's fine for lunging my biggest mini, Bacardi, who's about 37". I used to lunge minis in a 50' round pen and that was a little more work than *I* wanted for myself

My round pen is 48 and that is about the right size. When working the lunge whip reaches to the right point for moving them around. Much larger and I would have to work harder to encourage them when they start doggin it.

I've been told that if a horse can make 30 canter paces around the circle, it's big enough. Just my 2 cents.
