person?? We are having a heated discussion over on the Arenosa list as to how tall Rowdy REALLY was. So did anyone here actually see and touch him in person? I have heard he was over 34" tall...

Thanks,

Jenny

My mother, Laurie, saw Rowdy in person and can vouch that he was a legit 34". She took many trips out to NFC Farms back in the late 80's/early 90's, as we starting to put our breeding program together, and saw him many times.

I saw him many, many times, even before NFC bought him. I have also personally measured him and showed against him once. He was 34". Like every 34" horse, you could measure him over if his feet were long or he wasn't set up correctly, but you can do that on our Xenon, who when set up "by the book" is 33.75". I guess that this discussion will continue as long as the "conspiracy theory" of JFK's assasination.

I saw him in 1986 when looking for my first Miniature Horse.I went to see Eqyptian King, but was very impressed by Rowdy.I don't usually like bay horses much since I come from a Standardbred background and they come mostly in bay, brown or black.I can tell you he was AWESOME looking and had a real presence, much like Buckeroo does. He was very impressive, but I did not measure him or even stand next to him. It was a great loss to the breed when he died such an untimely death.

He was just found dead in the pasture and I was told that Bob Irwin commented that it was somethign that could have been fixed had they known it was a problem.I just can't remember all the details.Maybe Tony knows.

I don't think that Bob ever told me what the problem was, only that they found him dead.

Thats to bad
