Have any of you guys noticed that buyers seem to come in groups? I don't get it! I usually post ads on weekends, because that's when I assume most people have time to window shop. Clearly my logic is flawed, because today I got four inquiries on the same colt I've been advertising for a month with none. I take new pictures every week and post a new ad on LB every time the old one expires, and today I got e-mails from people browsing three other sites whose ads I haven't updated since I placed them.

And this isn't the first time I've had a horse suddenly become popular after weeks of advertising. Are people still getting stimulus checks? Is it psychic energy? What's the deal here?! Anyone else get a Monday rush?

Hard economic times here in the east. Can't even give em away (at least to a place they won't be turned over fast.)...Hay is expensive finally here in NY (bummer), gas is ridiculous, groceries a joke....I fear for all the horses, I can go without so they will have hay and feed and bedding but lots of others cannot. It's a hard one!

I have noticed the same thing. I know the saying goes that a person has to see an ad like 3-4 times before it really sticks and they act on it. It really does seem like they come in groups as I will get a bunch of emails all in one day lol. Its kinda odd how it works.

I've never heard that about the 3-4 times Kaykay, but I guess it makes sense (that must be why I see the same darn fast food commercials several times a day huh?). I guess when you apply that to the time frame of these ads, it really does make sense. The more I think about it, the cooler that concept is. I was wondering if I had a bunch of people drive by the farm this weekend or something--it was just so strange to get all those e-mails at once.

And I know where you're coming from too SageNapala. Just this weekend someone less than an hour from me posted several minis for $50. I'd hate to think what kind of conditions dictated that price.

I totally agree with all of you. I was selling tack, not horses, once and I was blown away!

I posted an ad on the Sale board on a Monday afternoon. That tuesday morning I had 16 email inquiries. IM NOT EVEN JOKING!! I sold all the tack but a few items. That next Monday, following LB rules, I posted another ad. 2 EMAILS! Thats it!

They do come in "waves"

You are so RIGHT........It IS an "energy" thing. I noticed it years ago when I used to be involved with an Antique Shop. There would be a surge in sales, and usually the sales would be focused with a particular area of the store. When I mentioned it to my friend & co-worker, Faye, who has been in the antiques business for much longer than me, she just smiled and nodded........

She told me that when one person shows interest in an area or item, it "fluffs" the energy around it, and attracts the attention (unconsciously) of other people too. She then informed me that when sales are slow, she will move items around just to "fluff the energy"!

Now, if can just figure out how to FLUFF SOME MINIS!!!

It's so funny you posted this-

I just had the Exact same thing happen- Though I am not as affected by the horse market slump down here- Hay's Always expensive, and a good kids horse is a good kids horse and worth money. I have alot of our summer project horses for sale, and suddenly got slammed the past week on horses- I've been showing horses all weekend and have already sent one out on trial. (Doing a dance)

Miniv- I love you- fluff the mini energy! I have a fluffy mini- does that count??

I usually post ads on Friday or saturday evenings ...funny you mention it, normally inquires do come in a few at a time. I figure on friday/saturdays..that is when people are done working for the week and feel like shopping ...i try to avoid monday/sundays

Yes I've had a similar experience, but not with minis. We have a furniture business. We had these two dining room suites for months and months! We were starting to think they would never sell and then, like magic, they both sold over the space of one weekend. Or we might have a piece in the store for ages, then it will sell, and all of a sudden I'll have 10 people coming in to wanting to buy it! Weird!
