I get to be a small part of some really really neat gifts. Laura on the board commissioned me to paint a portrait for her sister for Christmas. Thanks Laura! This is a picture before it was completely done. I had to take out Marlee's shadow and do another in a different direction and finish her feet. And then I didn't take another photo of it before I shipped it. But you get the hint!

This is Marlee and it sounds like she was a wonderful part of their lives. Thanks for looking!

Awesome job Kim!!!

Your paintings are truly amazing!

Are you stranded inside due to this nasty white stuff outside?.....yikes!!! Atleast if I had the talent you had, I could do something fun.......instead I worked on cleaning house yesterday, but today went to work.......haha.

I think I'm going to have to have you do one of Spyderman when I find the right picture to work from.

I can't even begin to say how much this painting of "Marlee" means to Lindsey and Dianne, and to me. Lindsey & Dianne boarded Marlee at their vet's while at my house for Zac's 2nd birthday. They came home a few days later and she was in the early stages of kidney failure. This amazing, incredible friend fought it as hard as she could, but lost her battle within days.

She had been their constant companion for nine wonderful years. When Lindsey and Dianne would leave each day, they would say to Marlee "guard the house big girl". The pose in the portrait is just that, Marlee guarding her home, faithfully waiting for her family to return.

Kim's incredible work brought all of us to tears. It embodies the spirit of this fiesty, devoted friend. While Marlee has gone over the rainbow bridge, she will always be "guarding the house" thanks to Kim...

Kim that is stunning!! I've done some painting through the years so I look at them with a bit of a critical eye and I'm really impressed with your work. What medium do you use?

Beautiful...the detail in the face is amazing. She is going to love it!

It looks like a photo ......a great photo with so much detail. You have an unbelievable talent.

Thank you everyone.

It makes me incredibly happy to be able to help someone that has lost a part of themselves. And that is what it is like.

Thank you all for the kind comments. Appylover2 I use acrylics since they dry fast and are very clean. I appreciate the nice thoughts!

When I first saw it I thought it was a photo! It's amazingly awsome!
