My friend has a Husky dog, with a double thick coat. She uses this grooming rake to help remove the excess hair. She thought she'd try it on her horse to help with her winter coat shedding out.

IT'S THE BEST TOOL AROUND! I have a bag full of horse grooming products but I have never seen anything work as well as this tool. It STRIPS that winter coat right out, better than any curry comb!

I went and bought myself/Bailey one right away. I love it and Bailey loves it too. It gives them a real deep massage too.

They are available in long and short teeth. I have the shorter teeth version as the longer one is TOO long.

I only paid $8 AUS. The best investment!

That looks like a wonderful rake!! Where did you buy it at?? I need one for my dog and my horses!!

They are available here in Australia in pet stores/shops.

Also, do a google search for 'dog grooming rake' and you may be able to order one online.

Make sure you get one that looks like the photo with the '2 step' teeth. I did buy one that was just plain teeth, that didn't work quite as good.

I've used a grooma rake ever since Mona recommended it a few years back, and love it as a shedding tool.

Be careful where you use it, as those teeth can be rough on sensitive skin. One of my horses is overly sensitive and hates it. The others love it.

: Yep, I've been using these for years, and could never live without them, especially once their Spring shed begins! They beat all horse specific grooming tools HANDS DOWN! You can buy them at most any pet shop or well stocked pet departments in chain stores.

I couldn't agree more!! I bought mine at TSC (Tractor Supply) for about $8 or $9. I've seen them in various pet stores, too, but usually at a higher price.

Yep! I've been using those for a couple-few years now, ever since Mona told us about them! They work great and the minis LOVE them. There's another tool, I think called a "Groomeez" that they love, too. They are like plastic short toothed brushes that have a button you press to push the hair they collect to the top to take it out. Those work really, really well, too.

I love the Groomeez tool also. In fact, so well that I use to give them as a "new buyers gift." I think I'm out of them now, so need to order more. The nice thing about them is that it catches the hair and you don't have it flying around everywhere (if you're doing outside grooming) - as I do for broodmares.

Looks like a "must have" addition to my grooming tools! :bgrin Also has me wondering if the "furminator" tool my friends rave about for their dogs would work well on minis also.
