1:30 and the vet just left. Complete exam, blood, stool squish(good water intake), founder check (no founder :aktion033: ) she definitely has an ulcer. Jessie felt it in the same spot I did. We will keep her on the meds CARAFATE for 8 wks alternating the pills and Marty's generous GastroGuard. No feed for 6 wks just hay and carrots.
You should see her, heck I'll take pics soon. She's lost at least 20 lbs. Today she is out wandering and eating her hay, giving Halley heck for bugging her. Jessie says the meds are kicking it and keep it up 4xd.
Thera does have quite a bruise in her off side front but no founder. I'll be soaking it in epsom salts daily just so it doesn't absess. I cannot tell you the deep thrill I feel knowing she will get better in time. My thanks to you all for being with me thru this. Now I just have to keep up the carafate 6am, noon, 6pm and midnite.
She does need a equine dentist (thank you Bonnie), Jess did find some sharps on the left. I'll be doing that in a bit, she suggested letting the meds work for a bit longer so as not to upset her ulcer with the procedure so I'll see if he can come when the farrier does (around the 19th) so it can be all done and over.
Thank you all so much.
Just a special thanks to RobinTrueJoy for calling me and telling me about this drug for Thera, bless your generous heart, I swear you saved us both. Dr Jessie had not used it in minis before and now she knows and maybe it will help another.

Also to Marty, you amazing person you, for calling and sending me some GastroGuard. Using both meds will heal her tummy ulcer and make me feel better too.
