So my new mini horse trailer or mini livestock box trailer is done and ready for pick up. I have been sitting for hrs drawing up different designs on how I want it lettered up with my barn name and a "catchy" prase to be put on it.

My farm name is SILVER MAPLE MINIATURES and think I may have came up with something nice and simple.

My hubby knows a guy who can hand paint everything on it but do worry that he'll so mess up the silhouette of the mini horse I drew up. I know it sounds corny BUT you know with one small mistake, it could make it look like any other horse but a mini. The guy is so good price that I want to use him and know he dose a awesome job on lettering free hand, but the pics/graphics Im not to sure about.

I also considered having it done by someone who dose the sticker lettering but that will cost x10 the amount as the gentelman above.

And I also considered having it lettered and I do the graphics too. BUT not to sure about that as well as I can draw on paper but not standing and drawing on a wall, so to speek.

What do I do and what did you do?

We had a trailer done a few years ago and I had the graphics done by the factory representative. I sent them a copy of a horse that I had drawn myself and which appears on all of our farm paperwork. I sent it back twice as the graphics person was good at lettering and other designs, but not horses. I finally settled on something and am sorry because everytime i look at it, I am disturbed. There are a couple of things i could have done and didn't. Aw hindsight. As an old teacher, I have been known to take my own drawings, put them on transparencies, put them on an overhead projector and project them onto a large piece of paper taped to the wall, and make a pattern. Computers with a projection app can do the same thing for you. If you do have someone do the work for you, make sure it is exactly what you want to see. Don't assume that they will get it right because they can copy your drawing. When it is on the side of your trailer, all mistakes will show more due to the larger size. Congratulations on your new trailer!

I had my horse trailer customized with a logo that had previously been designed for me and also had the website address put on it at the top. Right now, I don't remember what it cost to have my personalization put on, but it was very minimal. I think less than $200. ALSO, because I am obsessive, I have coordinated license tags on both our horse trailers (WHNY4ME and WNNY4ME) and WHNY4ME horse enthusiasts plates on the truck

Just since it ties in, we also have our logo / design on business cards and postcards:

If you are looking for something like Jill has on the back of her trailer, companies that do computerized T-shirt transfers can usually do vinyl lettering and designs for car windows, sides of vehicles, signs,....it is a different type of vinyl, but the computerized image cutter is the same.

The back side is an all weather adhessive.

I have a close friend that did a small one for my trailer doors and ones for my SUV. They can be done in quite a large size range.

Now, the design would be single colored, but you could have the design one color, the farm name another, then the web site info another, then compile them like Jills.

Not a design that I did exactly but the guy at Nationals (just outside in the trailer) helped me put this together. He was reasonable and then went and put it on. PM me if you want his email. He lives in Kansas

There are places on the web that will do full color stickers. I have a photo of Thumper on the trailer, and then some horse graphics hubby picked out. I got some of them at Nationals. :modedit: Mention of ther auction sites are not allowed, thanks.

I think the guy at Nationals the year I went was way ovr priced, 10 times what I could find elsewhere.. Just have to look around.

I like the photo I have but I want to do the same thing bug bigger next time.

Can't wait to see your new trailer at the show MindyLee!

Would love to see your trailer!

Eclipse will do it for $100 I think (atleast thats what the price list says, probably depends on what you want) :modedit: Mention of outside auction sites not allowed. Please see the rules page. Thanks.

I have a local votech that has a graphic arts program and they do the vinyl signs, I know a car windshield banner is $6. Maybe you have something similar locally?

A cheap projector from Joannes. I think mine was under 20.00. It will put your picture any size you want (you just move the projector closer or farther away from the trailer) on the side of the trailer you just trace and color it in.

THANK YOU all for the great ideals. I will be looking into some of them soon as I get my trailer home. It's all done just waiting for the weather to clear up from the winter storm to go get it.

Ours was done by a sign graphics designer. The hooves were taken from a hoof trimming that I brought with me when I dropped off the trailer for painting. This a Horse Hauler.
