Thank you but no, I prefer not to get my information spoon fed to me from the politician. I turn the channel every time ANY political ad comes on because they only show you what they want you to see. Debates yes, scripted infomercials no.

What I see it as Obama knowing he has to keep his supporters excited enough to actually go out and vote for him. Not saying it isn't a bad plan as Obama, among others, has a huge percentage of young and first time voters, those that have the worst election day turn out records.

Will catch the recaps later though.

I guess it should come as no surprise that O didn't buy Fox airtime. So I'll be watching O'Reilly. Although I'll be wondering if O is selling Sham Wows.

You know what Obama video I would tune in to see?

That Obama - Khalidi video the LA Times wrote about but will not release:

Wake up and smell the coffee!!!

Exactly - I'm thinking after the election a whole lotta stuff might come out of the closet! I just don't understand why so many people are covering for Obama.

Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack ObamaJoe Raymond / Associated Press

By Peter Wallsten, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

CHICAGO -- It was a celebration of Palestinian culture -- a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi,

A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.

One Jewish leader said he viewed Obama's outreach to Palestinian activists, such as Said, in the light of his relationship to Wright."In the context of spending 20 years in a church where now it is clear the anti-Israel rhetoric was there, was repeated.

I'm still confused about why the LA Times would write the article and then refuse to produce the video it's based on for national consumption. Guess it was just enough to get the Times some publlicity and continue to cover for Obama.

But wait.......we're only the voting public.....what gives us the right to know what's going on?

Well I tried to watch it....Tried.. but about 10 min into it I changed the channel. To many sob stories for me. If I want to watch a sob story I'll put on a good real movie. I didn't care for it at all. Like others said.. would rather watch the paint dry.

But I would love to see that other video they are hiding.

Obama - Khalidi video the LA Times

Its got to be hiding something that wouldn't be at all good for Obama. But of course like everything else with him its all being hidden.

I'm thinking after the election a whole lotta stuff might come out of the closet!
Cathy, I sure hope so.

I heard about that last night, Mary Lou. If I remember right, Khalid was given a $500,000 grant by a group HEADED by McCain.

So I guess whatever 'horrible' things Khalid is saying or doing, McCain's okay with funding it.

"Khalidi is a professor of Middle East Studies at Columbia University and a longtime friend of Obama's. Khalidi has publicly criticized Israel, but he and Obama have both said they hold very different opinions on Israeli issues.

McCain also has ties to Khalidi through a group that Khalidi helped found 15 years ago. The Center for Palestine Research and Studies received at least $448,000 from an organization that McCain chairs."

The McCain camp gambit comes after conservative writers have repeatedly pressed for media outlets to write about the rather tenuous connections between Obama and Khalidi, an outspoken advocate for Palestinian rights. Specifically, National Review writers want much more attention paid to the association, given that the LA Times has reported that Khalidi lavished praise on Obama at a farewell party in Chicago at which Bill Ayers was also present. (Other writers have accused Khalidi of being an aide to Yasser Arafat, a claim which Marc Ambinder and Ari Berman have suggested is not credible.)
In regards to Khalidi, however, the guilt-by-association game burns John McCain as well. During the 1990s, while he served as chairman of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars. A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank. (See grant number 5180, "West Bank: CPRS" on page 14 of this PDF.)

The relationship extends back as far as 1993, when John McCain joined IRI as chairman in January. Foreign Affairs noted in September of that year that IRI had helped fund several extensive studies in Palestine run by Khalidi's group, including over 30 public opinion polls and a study of "sociopolitical attitudes."

“In countering the McCain attacks, the Obama campaign also cited a tangential link between Mr. McCain and Mr. Khalidi. Mr. McCain is chairman of the International Republican Institute, which gave grants in the 1990s to the Center for Palestine Research and Studies, of which Mr. Khalidi was a founder, to conduct surveys of Palestinians. The International Republican Institute’s 1998 tax filing says it gave $448,000 to the Palestine group, money that originated with government grants to the Republican organization.”

Well, I watched Baby Mama...wasn't too impressed with the movie, but it was better than what the networks were airing. I really was expecting it to be funnier, but it was ok.

Sonya -- I'm sure the movie was the better choice! We watched it and thought it was funny. Especially her peeing in the sink... Yes... I am easily amused

Lowerise -- that Jackson Free Press "article" link is actually BLOG entry

Any idea what the author, an internet person known as "ladd", sports as credentials? ... after seeing the reality of that link, I didn't actually look at the others, but we all know how far left MSNBC is.

Jill, I'm aware of that, which is why I surrounded it with more credible sources. There isn't a lot to choose from-why is that? This is obviously a very important issue, so why isn't the media picking it up yet? Are they protecting McCain?

What else is there we don't know about John McCain?

Yes, I think that's what it is. The mainstream media is now protecting McCain after being in the tank for Obama all this time

So now you see how ridiculous it is, right?

The news media has spent plenty of time talking about Joe the Plumber, Obama's connections to Wright, Ayers, and now Khalidi. This and that and so on.

How much time have they spent talking about John McCain and any of the following? Keating 5, G. Gordon Liddy, money from organized crime, Khalidi, his VP pick's abuse of power in office...

Lowrise, I see how ridiculous something is, but not what you were hoping for.

I have expressed concern for many months about Obama's shady relationships and my concern is valid and sincere. Look at what the mainstream media's finally telling "you" about Acorn! Pretty much what we who watch Fox told you, right?

From my perspective, there's not anything I've seen about McCain's past that raises my eyebrows but there is A LOT about Obama's history and relationships that is deeply concerning.

And I'm not concerned about the fact a candidate sits in a room or has dinner with associates or even friends that he disagrees with. Last I checked that was okay to do. IMO, it's a good thing to do. To reach across the aisle, the table, and talk with people you have a fundamental disagreement with.

I'm sorry if the fact that a lower class, mixed race man could make it in this world, make it into politics, talk with people but not take their opinions and policies along with him, and eventually become a candidate for U.S. President is so unbelievable or concerning for some people. I think it's great.

ETA, in fairness: I also think it's great that a man who's 'past his prime' by the standards of a society so focused on youth and good looks can still be a candidate, too.

Are you implying I am a racist, or that other members who are legitimately concerned about what Obama's friends and track record say to them are racists???

I may be a lot of things some people wouldn't like, but racist is not one of them
