Well...my whole family rushed to Boston last Monday as my sister took a turn for the worse. Her heart output was at 10% and they were trying to get her into surgery to do a tracheostomy so that they could get the tube out of her mouth. They finally did that on the Tuesday. It was very touch-and-go, but she's slowly getting better. Her heart output is now at 45%. She was off the ventilator for 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. They think that the H1N1 was the cause of her heart problem

That, along with her advanced ALS, is what almost killed her. But my sis is a fighter. That, her family and community, and your prayers and thoughts are what are pulling her through this.

Thank You

Matthew

OH Matt, I really REALLY hope that she continues her upward climb...what an amazingly strong woman she must be ((((((HUGS))))))

Glad to hear that she is starting to feel better!!

Lots of good thoughts that she keeps going in that direction!!!!

"Kathy was in a recliner yesterday when I arrived! She is off all meds. They are taking her off the ventilator for longer periods of time each day as she can tolerate. She will be going to a rehab facility in Stoughton called Sinai but we are not sure of the timing. Larry" Larry is my brother in-law (an awesome husband and father).

Thanks everyone

Matt,

I am so glad for all of you!

Your family sounds like an incredibly strong, loving bunch; love like yours is a force to be reckoned with, and her improvement is testament to that.

Here's to continued improvement!
