Thanks for the update. I am sorry that things are worse than you thought. Sending prayers and healing white light up for Top Cat! Hang in there Top Cat!

Tony, I am SO GLAD they located this other dog!!!! Gee, it's white. Did they not notice the BLOOD on it when it got home??!!

I am so sorry to hear that Top Cat is going through this. I think that even the crushing of the dog's jaws causes horrible tissue damage, whether the tissue is ripped or not. I saw a young stallion, who had been savaged by another, with no bloody wounds, but the bites from the other stallion caused the skin all over the jaws and neck to start coming off in a few days. (he healed fine though)

I think that the dog should be picked up and euthanized immediately if they have not done so already.

And... as a matter of education, I think that the owner of the dogs should take a tour of the vet's office and see what their dogs have done first hand. Without getting a good VIEW of it, they may not really care - still. I think perhaps they should also donate a few hours a week at the vet's clinic, taking care of this horse, to realize the extent of all this. It takes a LONG TIME for those bites to heal up, and always worrying about infections, etc.... until they do!! This is on top of paying for damages.

I sold a filly a few years ago, that under limited showing, was doing well. The lady had hoped to start a small herd and they loved her dearly. The neighbors kids shot and killed this filly in the pasture, and their calf too. They sued, and won- not only for the loss of the horse, but also the loss of future foals and any other income they may have gotten from her.

Tony, all I can say is- give them all you got!!

:aktion033: Thant's great news about finding the owner of the dogs! Good Luck with getting a settlement. I hope it works out for you.

As for Top Cat, what an awful thing for that poor boy to be going through! I hope he'll be OK in the long run. Best of Luck with his progress.

Thanks for the update, Tony!

I hope and pray that TopCat is doing lots better.

Hopefully the other dog has since been destroyed and the owners have been made aware in many ways of how much TopCat has had to suffer. They need to be held responsible for the actions of their dogs!!

Top Cat is such a beautiful stallion. I'm so sorry this had to happen, its sounds as if you really went through the ringer that day. I will keep him in my prayers for a quick recovery. Keep us updated please. Joyce

Poor Top Cat! He's probably sick to death of all those debridements! I'm glad that he will recover though. Thank God they found the other dog!! You have had more than you share of bad luck with dogs.....hopefully you're done now.

It's good to hear that Top Cat has survived the attack, poor little guy! I was so afraid that he might not make it when I read your first post.

Any news on if those irresponsible dog owners will have to pay the vet bill, at least? Look into small claims court, you don't need to hire an attorney for that and I think that you can get up to $5000 in compensation thru small claims court.

{{{hugs}}} to Top Cat and to you and your family, Tony, what a horrible thing to have to deal with, over and over.

  so sad... praying for a speedy recovery for the handsome boy...

and :new_2gunsfiring_v1: :new_2gunsfiring_v1: to the dog's owners...

Tony,

How is Top Cat doing? I was just thinking of him.

Keep us posted. We are praying for him,

Tony please know that my prayers continue for a speedy and complete recovery for that precious little guy.

My hopes for you are that there will be some form of punishment for the owners of the animals for letting them be free to roam. It could have been just as easily a child that was attacked.
