I don't know about this for sure, but I've always heard that if you pay something each month to a hospital, medical bill, etc., they cannot take legal action against you. Check this out with an attorney, because I have heard that as little as $10.00 per month can keep you "safe". It would probably not keep them from harrassing you by phone and etc., but it could stop them from legal action. I sure hope it could help you!
Yes, it is horrible. I don't know how to change it s much as I wish I could.SaddleTrail you are absolutely right, I do have all those things. But isn't it a sad state of affairs for our country that as hard as we try to do the right thing, and as bad as our economy is, that people have their backs to the wall with few options.

Might be less than that.......as long as you're making an attempt to pay, even as low as $1.00 a month (I've heard) they can't take legal action against you.

We put too much value on expensive tests and specialist care. Those two components are the major increase in healthcare costs. Despite the recession, healthcare spending is projected to increase 5% while GDP is shrinking.I think it is EXTREMELY sad. With health care costs and the $$ our country spends in other nations that they could set up a "fund" for those who MUST HAVE attention or die.....especially when those people are willing to repayIn many states ERs cannot turn you away for life threatening attention, regardless of payment.![]()
