When I discovered that my father had put his foot down and refused to allow my mom to name me ..... Harriett! I practically got down and kissed that foot !

Harriett was also the name of a great-aunt of mine.

Rollin -- my dad

Clyde -- my grandfather (dad's side)

Walter -- both a grandfather (mom's side) and a great uncle by marriage.

Amerigo -- my Italian father inlaw

My husband has several older relatives with very Italian names, but I can't remember them right now.

My grandmother's name was Zena.....she was a Scottish lady born in the mid 1800's....

I named our first mini baby after her as it went with our Z name theme.

I think it's pretty.

It used to be unusual but it's not terribly uncommon any more since

they manufactured jeans under that brand name...

Well, in the early 60's, determining the sex of an unborn child must have been more difficult than today. The doctor told my mother I was going to be a boy, so they chose the name Charles Robert and referred to me in utero as Charlie.

Well, when 'Charlie' was born...there was no stem on the apple!! They quick scrambled for a girl name (Jayne Ellyn) but to this day, and I'm 44 years old, my mom still calls me Charlie.

WOW I come from a long line of odd names
