I went with Corinne of Meadowridge and a couple of other people. It was interesting and informative. We watched an older horse have his teeth floated with this new equipment that I had never seen. There was even a head rest for the horses head. An a contraption to hold open the horses mouth. Really something to see! We could even look inside the horses mouth. ( Poor horse had a big gash in his tongue from his bad teeth. ) About ten years ago, I had one of my horses teeth floated - but they were just filed - nothing like this new high tech stuff I saw tonight. I will definatly be attending other clinics.

Hey Corinne - how were those frito's?

Isn't modern equine dentistry amazing?? My vet (a very good one who specializes in laminitis) had always floated with a big old rasp and my horse would be sore for days afterward. Then I switched clinics and had their vet who specialized in dentistry come out and oh my! Padded headrest, gimmick to hold the mouth open, power tools with tiny heads, scopes, headlamps, the works. My old man did not have a moment of soreness afterwards and was eating better immediately even though he didn't have any real problems like hooks or anything. Gotta love it.

Thanks for responding Leia and Tobey - this was a new venture for me - a long time in coming actually - and I have Corinne to thank for that. I would highly recomend for any horse owner that has not been to a clinic - to go to at least one.
