This little girl's mom is an App anf her sire is a pinto. What would you consider her? She has molting on her genitals. Her face is starting molt.

What are your thoughts?

She obviously has pinto markings and if she has the mottling then she carries an app gene (just may not be the one for visible pattern) therefore she is a pintaloosa.. Since she does have mottling she could very well color up appy in the future

I agree with lucky C. She is a pintaloosa and you will probably see that more as she gets older.

Yeh! :aktion033: :aktion033:

She is so sweet too! I love her to pieces. I love apps!!!!

She's obviously pinto........and with the mottling, she's a pintaloosa and may show more characteristics as she ages.

I cannot see any Appy characteristics whatsoever.

If you want to call her a Pintaloosa, that's fine, but crossing a Pinto with an Appy does not give you a Pintaloosa.

Itcan give you a Pintaloosa. that's all

My experience with Pintaloosa is it usually does not show up untill about 2 years old.

Well considering she says she has mottling on her GENITALS and neither picture shows those areas then you're not going to see it

The definition is mottling- A spot or blotch of color.

Her genital area is white, pink and black. I figured that was mottling. Right? Or at least the start of it???

I will have to get pics.

"Mottling" can also be caused by other things than Appy- you can get some forms of mottling with Sabino, for example.

Without seeing what you are calling "mottling" it is not possible to decide but, visually, form the pictures, the animal is a Pinto, not a Pintaloosa.
