OK I"ll start cause finally I kinda got some things going right around here.

We repaired some 12 fuses last night, re-directed some extension cords, and now we have all our lights working. A lot of people have been coming by to see our lights. I love it. I found the missing Angel from the Nativity that went A-wall in a winter storm two weeks ago! Her head was detached but I glue gunned it back on!

We have people coming up from all over the place beeping the horns outside as they pass by. That's fun. I was standing outside drinking hot chocolate freezing to death watching all the cars and trucks. This is sooo fun!

My step son in Ohio is recovering nicely and looks like we may soon get a visit from him and his family which I love them all to pieces.

I got a lot of packages wrapped and ready to mail.

I got my printer working finally and I managed to print out a whopping 20 cards before I ran out of ink.

Oh I swear... but I'll get them done and mailed!

I made a trip to town and got stocked up on shavings. We may have an ice or snow storm on the way and I wanted to be ready in case the horses are hold up in the barn for a couple of days.

I balanced by checkbook WITH THE STATEMENT!!!! WOW! I've only done that like twice in my life

One of my students really struggles with math and had a test today. I graded it and happily found a 100%!!!

I got 52 gifts wrapped and 4 boxes ready to go out of town for Christmas. I'm about 3/4 way done w/wrapping and shipping (totally done with shopping and decorating)....sure wish I would of gotten my Christmas Cards out today...oh well, tomorrow is another day.

But - my house is a disaster...and my barn is poopy! I've only made my guys sleep in poop about 3 times in almost 2 years and tonight is one of them. Other times were because I was sick or in hospital, It's only the poop from today so no one get to excited, I'm not a horse abuser, although I'm sure Percy and Merlin think so.

more good things - I'm very excited about a driving clinc I'm going to on Saturday. Whitney (Kim) is going also.

My FIL took my oldest out in the woods today to cut him and my MIL a tree for Christmas and they got one for us too!

SOOOOO, with the money that I saved by not having to buy a tree, I get to buy another heated water bucket! Woohoo!!!

If I was house hunting, I wouldn't have it any other way! Good Luck, Hope it's great and you get it...I know Daisy would be happy!

Now this is a thread I can wrap my arms around.

Today was a beautiful day in so many ways.

Nothing specific just a glad I'm here day......

My germ was decent to me today, my beloved Bearboy, the German Shepherd made us laugh and laugh as usual today.

All the ponies were happy and healthy and got lots of hugs...we spoil them rotten each day, it's our job.......and they spoil us right back by loving us and being

so happy to see us at every visit to the barn......

Oh and how could I forget, this is my oldest son's birthday today, Pearl Harbor Day....He doesn't live close but he's close in my heart and got all my good wishes for a perfect birthday.....

Life is as simple and good as you make it........

Happy Wednesday and a happy tomorrow to you!

I had a great day today!

My sister-in-law who I also work with invited some of our ER gang to her house for lunch. She made us a gourmet lunch(that woman can cook!) and then put us to work decorating the inside of her house for Christmas. We are having our ER Christmas party at her house. Amazing how fun it was and how fast time went!

Then I went out in the evening with my "horsey friends" for our annual Christmas dinner and gift exchange. We all got to give Kathi(wcr) big hugs in sympathy since one of her mini-mares went over the rainbow bridge yesterday. I think the evening did a lot to lift her spirits. This group is so special to me. I've known some of them for 14 years and have ridden many a trail with them. Even now that I don't ride anymore they still keep me in the loop!

I had a great day!

Marty

You'd be really proud of me.

We're having our annual Christmas decorating contest at the hospital. The prizes are just ribbons for placing, but nonetheless.....last year my department did not participate as we were just too busy and tired.

This year things are slower for us, so we have had lots of time on our hands. I went to the dollar tree and just a dollar stores over the weekend and bought LOADS of decorations.

The theme is Winter Wonderland (because surgery is always so cold) and we have snowmen, snowflakes, icicles....colors are white, silver and blue.

We took the OR bonnets which are thin blue paper and made them into blue roses.....we have pearls and garlands and blue candy canes and roses and wreaths and TONS of hanging snowflakes EVERYWHERE.

We bought a 4 foot tall inflatable snowman and have some fake gifts at his feet. Now the contest is really heating up as the nursing floor has decided to go BACK and add more to theirs.

It has become a real competition for the first place ribbon and by gosh we surgery nurses compete to win!!!!

I'm really proud of my staff for being so creative and doing all the decorating. The most ingenious Martha-esque decorator of all has been the nurse's assistant, Sharonda, who makes the most pitiful wages, drives the farthest, and works the hardest. We've discovered that she is our diamond in the rough!

good morning all

Well, the biggest thing right now that has gone right is the mini, Howie, that I am getting from Lyn J. I am counting down the days. Yesterday, I was also thinking about what went right for my family this past year, not just in a day. My grandmother no longer has cancer, My sister and siter in law gave me a nephew and niece that I can spoil rotten and then send home
yes.gif
. Plus for me, I have had a dual transplant in September and everything has been going great with that ever since. Watch out Christmas cookies and desserts because I can eat as much as I want of you this year as I am no longer diabetic

Well, the best thing that happened was everyone came home from work and school safe and sound. Can't get any better than that!

I delivered a beautiful gelding to his new home, which was a horses paradise. I am so happy to know this little boy will be in a comfortable, safe and happy home. Can't wait for Christmas now as this little guys new owner is a 10 year old boy that is horse crazy and doesn't know about his present yet.

I see by the time Marty started this thread that "today" is now "yesterday"-but I am posting anyway! My Bennington cart FINALLY arrived yesterday! It has come all the way from England--docked in Houston on Nov. 9, and then took FOUR WEEKS for the cargo company to get it from there to here(near Albuquerque). It has been a huge frustration, I can truly say! It was BITING cold yesterday(as it apparently was throughout most of the entire country-talk about an "arctic express"!!), and it came late in the PM, so is sitting in the barn, still encased in most of its wrappings. Don't know how long before I can get it reassembled-it's supposed to take 2-3 people, and there's only me...but I can tell it is BEAUTIFULLY made and finished! Really neat, the way it was packed-within a framework of steel tubing, it was bolted onto the framework, then wrapped in really HD shrink wrap of sorts(makes me wonder why part of the delay in delivery was that it was 'set aside for' X-ray-as you can see all of what's inside....
unsure.gif
!! Can't help but wonder if it didn't have something to do with the fact that, when called by the cargo company, I wasn't prepared to pay an extra, unstated $150 to have its progress 'expedited'.....)

Bottom line is, it is here at last, and I am HOPING for an improvement in the weather conditions soon, so I can actually drive it!! HOORAY!! I ordered it in August, but turns out, it's my Christmas present to me, from me....

This is my kind of thread, The whole wk was good. One day Donna and I went Christmas shopping all day and out to lunch, alot of fun. One day I got all my horses dewormed, always a good feeling. We went and got Nates new glasses so he doesn't have to wear the wired together ones any longer. Oh, and went to Shopko for some more presents and yippee, I had Nate with me and he's over 55 so we got 20% off of our whole purchase, it was "old people day", they have that every couple months and we just happened to hit it. That made me feel good. Last night we took Maggie out to the local bar (the only entertainment in our life) I sat on my stool and played the gambling game out there, Maggie and I shared a meat stick, like always, everyone loves Maggie. We've agreed, what Maggie wants, Maggie gets, this is her world, we just live in it!! Now Nate and I are getting ready to go back to Winona to buy shoes and going to eat at our favorite place that has a salad bar but I'm such a freak about germs that I won't eat there unless we get there right when they open it up. So we don't get there to often so today will be fun. Have to go to the feed store too, my horses go through there Purina 12:12 so fast, I don't know why they like it but must need it or they wouldn't eat so much. And it's snowing gently outside, has warmed up to 6 above zero and is so beautiful out there. I could go on and on but will shut up!

(just wanted to ad here, that I'm not much of a shopper all yr, just the farm store so when Christmas comes and I'm out in the stores, it's so much fun to see all the new things and to run into people I"ve not seen for a long time, it sounds here like I'm a shopaholic, I'm not but maybe an Ebay freak!)

Robby made me laugh hysterically yesterday in spite of all the junk that happened. My blood sugars stayed normal all day, My husband kissed me first instead of the dog when he came home....... Our elictricity was off a while and I still could keep the wood stove going ( so proud of myself this is not one of my talents!)...... God is good and therefore all is right with the world!
