Yesterday I found out the bosses are feeling generous and gave me sick pay for 2 of my missed days.....I might be able to pay the mortgage

God must like me as he/she has given me the best friends to surround myself with. The girls Xmas dinner was the best (thanks Sandy), I have had pms that mean a lot and my animals still love me and wake me up at 2 am for hugs.

Nothing like a whisker up the nose at 2 am.

The dog loves me unconditionally and nobody complaining that the dishes are stacked up on the counters. Xmas cards almost done and Mentally Xmas is only 4 weeks away now.

I got a bonus from God today too!!! Out of the blue, the lady that I told that lucky was no longer available and told her why, then promptly threw away her e mail, called me today to say how sweet it was to do and she would see me in spring. When I explained that I was so happy she called me because I had lost her e mail because she could after all have Lucky. She came at lunch time, spent almost 2 hours playing with him and visiting. She is going to be his new mommy and he will live with a mini donkey and a 34 year old mule and be trained later for ads!!!! We are all very happy after all.

Thanks God..... I needed that goody today.

Well this day is always kinda a bummer for me, being the 5th year anniversary of the loss of my ever so special pony, who was my best friend throughout my childhood.

But I am thankful for the time I had with him, and I am thankful for the fuzzy frosty noses that are out in the barn waiting for their kisses!

Picked up my new ring today ( pink sapphire & diamonds ). Lee has been wanting to buy me jewelery for Christmas almost every year. Been married 35 years & this year I said ok. ( Always said no, not with my lifestyle - have already lost a diamond earring & two necklaces)......... We then had dinner at our new Cheesecake Factory restaurant & made it home safely on the slick roads............. Went out to shut the horses in as the pens are sheets of ice. Had to walk & hold on to the fence but made it back to the house without falling on my bohunkus.

It's well past the "today" Marty started this, but I just gotta add to it.

A friend of mine (good friend's husband) and a friend of his come up from Florida to go deer hunting and while they were here they did absolutely everything on my "things to do for the house" list. Honestly they did so much I began to feel guilty. Not only did they hang shelves, put up shutters, build steps on porch, put banister on basement stairway, etc.....they also did some electrical work in the barn, hooked up the de-icers for the water troughs, changed gates so ALL the horses have access to their stalls from the pasture (instead of just one at a time).

It was an amazing week and we had a good time (in spite of the fact that they didn't get a deer). Now I just gotta get used to being by myself again. This house was sure quiet after they left.

Sorry for the delay in replying to this one, but been too busy with working to post before now, but I just had to! About a 1/2 hour before you posted this message Marty, my Chihuahua had her first litter...ONE puppy! LOL. At least the pup was not so large as to require Mom to have a c-section! It was breech, but I managed to get her out and breathing, so was happy about that! Maybe next time she'll have more than one!

Last night was wonderful because I fell asleep with my cat and kept waking up to find him curled up in a different adorable position each time. Warm, fuzzy, cute, awwww...a good night.

Yesterday I finally finished fighting the shipping company, drove to Tacoma on a beautiful day and got my new cart in my hands for a reasonable amount of money. It even fit Kody, although the shafts are a little narrow. I took Spyderman out for a ride and had a couple really good strong moonlight gallops at the insistence of my darling almost-29-year-old boy. We even raced a rabbit, which he thought was a great excuse to flag his tail and try to buck sideways. I reminded him that as I was bareback he needed to NOT do that. LOL He was just so cheerful and proud of himself that it was impossible not to be in a good mood riding him. Happy boy, happy me.

Today I drove down south with my mom and met an old artist friend of ours and played with her horses. She showed us how if she calls her Morab up to the far gate by the driveway and then gooses her van and guns for the house, the horse will race the car bucking and kicking all the way. Adorable!

And now I'm at work making extra money. Yay.

Traffic? In Renton, really? You must be thinking of some other Seattle suburb. But then I do only have a 3 mile commute to work

The woman definately was on a mission. But I think even I would brave the horrendous traffic jams we have here for a new cart!

What went right today was this thread. A happy one with positive things to read about for a change. Thanks Marty for that! I was able to walk around the house for over an hour today without a cane and realized my new meds might be making me stronger. There is hope on the horizon!

Hope is life! Lovin' it! Maxine

Well, I woke up to a nice sunny day, also much "warmer" then it has been. Seventeen degrees as apposed to near zero in recent days gone by. Hubby served me coffee in bed and did my outside chores for me. He almost always does them when he is home on the weekends. I like taking care of my horses, even in the cold weather, but it is also a nice break when he takes care of them for me.
smile.gif
He came in to work with me then, again - like he always does on the weekend. - He did all of the sweeping, mopping and dishes, while I cooked. THAT IS ALWAYS NICE TOO! Now I am of course enjoying some littlebegginings time!

Nice topic, Lori

Yes, yes, I did in fact notice that Renton was on the way to Tacoma. I had plenty of time to ponder that as I sat in traffic on the S-Curves. LOL

I actually thought fondly of you Triggy and wished I had your number!

And yes Runamuk, I agree with you. The only thing that could get me to Tacoma is either a heck of a concert in the afore-mentioned big dome or the lure of a new cart. At least it was sitting in a depot that turned out to be literally one block off the freeway so it actually wasn't as bad as I expected.

But definitely a woman on a mission- I got out of the house and headed for a dr's appt in Bellevue at 11AM, and when I realized I was going to be a few minutes late instead of calling in late I just canceled it and ran straight for Tacoma! LOL

I've gone through customer service heck to get this cart. Argh. It's used and I bought it for both show and CDE (although now I'm thinking it might not work very well for CDE, we'll see) and that's all I'm going to say about it for now. I plan a thread on the main board very soon with pictures!
