<<When you see an ad on the computer about a horse or horse product for sale/stud, and it does not have a website... do you ever inquire about the horse or product or even continue reading the ad?>>

Generally no I don't go further than that.

<<And... in what order do you view the web pages on a miniature horse site? I go in this order (if they have them all)>>

stallions ( I am always interestedin certain bloodlines and color and usually the stallions have lots of info on the site), for sale (always curios of current prices, what bracket of pricing the particular farm is in), mares (curious again) and then I usually am tired and skip the rest

extra pages...If I am still interested in browsing I might check out the sold page and if interested in a horse on the site for sale I will probably look at all the pages.

>>What about pedigrees on a website.. I myself like to look at them and see who's where and what they're producing. Do you?>> yes, I quite often will check out pedigrees

<<Over-all... what is the very best way we can represent our awesome little breed of horses that you don't feel is done enough on today's websites? > my site does cover candid photos and other activities that we do. I always like a farm that not only shows but does other things as well. Shows the diversity of the mini.

This is a great thread, I've been working on our farm website and it's really helpful to see people's likes and dislikes!

Personally, music annoys me to no end. Generally I will click off a website immediately that has music. I also hate it when sites have not been updated for a year, or do not state the date of the most recent update, so I have no idea how current the information on the site may be.

The first page I visit is usually the sales page, then the foals, the mares, the stallions, "about us" page, if I like what I am seeing I check out pretty much all of the pages.

It all depends on why I am looking. If I am looking to buy I go right to the sales page and, if I don't see anything I like there, I move on to another site. If I see something I like then I go over the entire web site - stallion page first, then mares, then foals, then whatever else they have. If I am just looking for fun I go down the pages in order that they have them listed.

If the site takes too long to load I move on in any case. If it uses those wacky cursors I usually go right to sales and move on quickly or exit before looking - they drive me crazy and I can't see what I am looking at cause the silly cursor distracts me no end!!! I don't mind music as long as it is background music and not too annoying.

Possibly, but in this day and age - I'd have to be very interested in the horse. If you're a business you do need to see somewhat current.

I look at lots of sites - I'm like Marty always checking them out! Although as I'm a 'W' farm I don't always start with A!!!

What will make me leave - pop ups where my pop up blocker is having fits, music (I know I can turn it down and do), but #1 I won't waste my time - outdated info. I don't mean a few months - I mean a few years! If the site owner doesn't care enough to keep their site updated, I don't need to waste my time there.

As for what I look at - always the sales page, stallions, mares, foals. I always look at pedigrees if available. If the site is interesting and I like the site I generally will hit all pages as well as sign the guest book and often follow the links to other sites.

On our site, we do have a number of pages with fun photos, etc., and they receive some interest, but most visitors hit the sales page, and a couple of the reference pages over all. Right now I'm doing a major overhaul of our site - so there are lots broken links until everything is updated.

I usually go to the

1) sale page

2) About us page/ facilty page

3) back to sales page if I like the farm I see

4) Check mare/stallion page to match up to sale page.

( Still miniless) so I have no idea if my looking is relevant- but I am definately getting to know who I feel confortable in dealing with for the future.

It is important for me to see the barn and padocks- because it helps give me an idea of how they are kept(minis)- It doesn't matter if it is run in sheds or 2 stall barn or a grand spread- but the condition of the barn and stalls and padocks.

It is also important to have good pictures- not profesional(alway beautiful to look at) but it is much nicer to see side shots with the horses heads up not eating and a full shot of the horse without there body being covered up by pasture.

I also like to go to the fun pages- it helps to feel comfortable with the farm and it is intresting to see what pictures people feel are important to them to but up on the web.

Price is also important- I feel it should be posted.

Hope it helps

I like looking at everything! I look at stallions, mares, geldings.. but like Marty I love to look at the behind the scenes of the farm... like the family, the farm, the other animals, the barns, pasture.. things like that.. so I am looking at more than just the ones for sale if that is why I am looking at it

Especially loved seeing your dachshunds since we are owned by a female red dapple, 8 lbs.

Haven't noticed you posting in a long time, How have you been?
