I was watching the auction and left before the horses started, so who got the deal and where is Daring going???

According to the chat during the auction, Darin was bidding on him for a client. I am not certain he got him though.

I can't believe he only went for $8000. Even in today's economy I figured he be close to $50,000.

I agree Kathi! I am still in SHOCK!

I was there at the sale and working it, Darin was bidding for an overseas client and yes she did get him..... for way too cheap, but my credit card limit was not high enough and my income is limited, LOL I wish I could have got him, but I do have a very successful daughter of his, and did buy a son as well.

I figured it would probably be someone overseas!! Congratulations to who ever it was!! They got a heck of a deal! At least he can go over and really help get the driving horse bloodlines going, although not sure if they need it or not!! Anyways Congratulations!!

There are SO many people who don't believe me when I tell them how much a miniature horse can potentially be worth. I DEFINITELY think that Daring Difference is worth more than 50k. Winning that much in the show ring not only in Driving (which he did as a younger stallion and then once again as an aged stallion--not many can do that) but also in halter. AND he has proven himself as an amazing sire. When you have those kind of credentials and look the way he looks, 50k is nothing.

p.s.--there have been many many minis that have sold for 100K or over. We probably won't be seeing that quite so much the next few years, but oh my gosh YES...there are minis that are worth it!

Our main client was the one who orginially syndicated Daring Difference....whoever bought him at that price really got a heck of a deal...that horse stlil has a lot to do in his lifetime! Congrats to the mystery person!

I think someone got the deal of the century!!! He's worth every bit of $50k IMO.

I believe they said he was syndicated for $130,000 ...

just wondering I have no clue who this horse is (new to minis) but can someone tell me where I can find a few pictures of him and more info he sounds really nice. Thanks

A steal of a buy on a spectacular horse !- The new owner will recover the purchase, plus shipping in just a couple of foals -- the training alone on the horse was probably well over $30,000 - not to mention the titles that he has because of that training!

So glad to see that the overseas market is "clicking in" to the performance potential of this wonderful breed - it has seemed that for the longest time the buyers were mainly interested in halter candidates - funny how things evolve, same thing has happened here over time, and now look at how popular the driving/performance classes are!

Stact

Wow!! That's crazy how a horse with as much training and show winnings as he has would go for such a low pricetag!!

Whoever bought him got a wonderful deal and hopefully will get the driving bloodlines in other parts of the world (wherever the buyer lives).

CONGRATS to his new owner!!
