First of all let me say that we are in Amish country and buggies pass daily and there is 1 cart that goes by with almost every day with a young Amish girl driving it and she has the PRETTIEST pony I have ever seen - he is black and no more than 12 hh he is thin built and stunning!

Today...

There I was outside in VERY windy conditions trying to hand Christmas Lights and the dogs start barking and 15 seconds later here came this pony with a young man riding him I swear 25 mph on the hard pavement ( he was flying it wasn't a trot it was an all out run!) I had just never seen such a sight. By the time I got off my ladder he was out of sight (but my horses were yelling at him

Boring post I know but I wanted to share

No actually considering all the other crap going on in the forum this was refreshing.

I wish you would have had your camera too! So do you think this was the same pony? If so - was it an Amish boy riding him?? Just wondering about the whole thing is all...Lori

I bet that's cool to see all the amish horses and carts going by all the time. It sounds like quite the sight to see someone riding full out on the pavemet

. I would have been scared to death.

For sure the same pony - the boy (who appeared to be 16-17) wasn't in "plain clothes" but was probably a Mennonite by the way he was dressed. And he was way to big for the pony. I will have to make a point to check to see if she goes by again today or tomorrow. I really don't think he had a saddle on either...
