    DRIVING EXPERTS- team questions- help

:new_rofl: :new_rofl: That so PERFECTLY describes my one and only tandem driving experience! I managed not to get any of us killed but it was a close thing. When it worked and everything "clicked" it was AMAZING, but when it didn't... *panic*

    Take a look at THIS.....

I'm just wondering why he chose to use this picture. Definitely a poor choice, but if he was trying to get attention for his ad he succeeded. Not the RIGHT kind of attention, though.

HOw old of a house would you buy?

Oh dear, you made me laugh quite hard there. I would love to see what that place looked like, I envy you your history over there. Our last house was built in 1830. It had been entirely redone several times throughout the years. It was a very nice home, loved it, didn't love the lack of land or...

    When to Geld???

My colt was older but that was because I didn't trust the vet I had when I first got him. My vet now will do them whenever she can find both of them, anywhere from 2 months on (she doesn't like sedating the little ones younger than that. I'm not sure what your riding instructor meant by "a lot...

    Stall sizes?

I have 2 12x12 stalls.... and a 12x24 run in area. But both of mine go in one stall together now that the colt is a gelding. They are happier that way and don't get as bored. I'd like to have a big horse some day, so I like having them big enough for that in case I need them eventually.

    Stable Cleaning

Mine don't. They pick through it for bits of grass but that is all. We did have a horse at one farm I worked at who would eat it and bloat up like a hot air balloon so we had to switch him to shavings. I've taken naps in straw and sawdust and shavings stalls and the straw was SOOOO comfy and...

Who is the Lucky one that is going to win this cart???

out of curiosity, anyone have any idea what kind of price range the shipping would be if someone won that who lives a couple of states away? Just wondering how much I should set aside from my tax refund so I can get it home when I win, lol.

    Stable Cleaning

Here all these years I hid the fact that I used my hands when I needed to because I thought people would think I was a kook! And, you know, they still might.... but at least now I know I am not alone!!! I use a plastic manure fork. I bed with straw, start by clearing a corner out then I pick...

what is your favourite meal for cold days

That's it, I'm coming to your house! What time is dinner? Seriously, this is exactly what I would answer and reading it made me drool a little bit.

    Front loading washers & dryers

Every good thing that has been mentioned before I agree with. All my life I had bottom of the line top loads because, well... I've been dirt poor all my life and I just took what I could get. Many years ago I worked for a woman doing housekeeping and she had a nice frontloader that I fell in...

    Christmas $$$$$$$

Several years ago I decided that I would only buy for my child. I explained to everyone that I would no longer be buying gifts for everyone under the sun. I couldn't afford it and it just added stress to an already difficult time of year for me. It upset some people, but... so what. The holiday...

    Rescue minis from Tremblys

Uh oh! You've been infected!!! Be careful, that is how the little stinkers suck you in and the next thing you know.... you are a full fledged mini horse person!!! It's so nice seeing Lil Pea Eye getting some loving. That one really hit me when those early pictures came out so knowing he is...

    Lets see those silver?

This is my late shetland pony, Jamie, a silver bay: I have no idea what colour his father was, but this is him and his mother, so pretty clear what colour SHE was, hehehe: This is my pet quality silver bay gelding, Sparrow: His sire was a black and white paint and his dam was... well...

I keep watching it just because that pony is so adorable. I just wanna gobble him up with his cuteness. That is MY kinda pony, even if he wasn;t romancing the ladies.

    Creative minds needed

If he was older and one of those guys with a lot of confidence who can pull off anything I'd suggest a maternity top over that fat belly, but I think he is probably a bit young to pull that one off properly. lol. Without being able to sew that sort of limits my suggestions. One year I used a...

COWTOWN Horse Auction in Turlock CA last night

I was going to take my old pony harness to the local stockyard and when I called to find out when the next horse auction was they said they will no longer be having horse auctions. They said horses were selling so low that they were losing money every time they had one so after almost 75 years...

    Hawk was gelded this morning

I just checked my paperwork from my vet and hers says, "Your horse may still be fertile for up to another 60 days. Please take precautions to prevent unwanted pregnancy by segregating him from any mares. If this is not a concern in your herd feel free to return him to his pasture mates...

    Hawk was gelded this morning

Sounds like he is doing what my colt did. ((hug)) hang in there, it will probably be starting to go down some tomorrow (maybe not a lot, but some). If not hopefully you can get your vet out there to take a look. My colts swelling actually went up onto his belly. : And it felt pretty tight...

    Hawk was gelded this morning

YAY!!! I've thought of him several times today and wondered how he was doing. Glad to hear he is feeling better and you can relax a little. Now, just be warned, my gelding didn't stop swelling until the third day. He had most of the swelling by the second day but it was bigger and tighter...
