    Minis and Queen Victoria

Since Charlotte likes stories about miniature horse history, this is a reference to King Henry ordering all Miniature Horses Destroyed on the Gray Fox Farm Site. "Miniature horses have been around for around 500 years. The earliest known "miniatures" came from Europe in the 1500's. Kings and...

    Minis and Queen Victoria

Found this information when researching "pit ponies". Thought you ladies might appreciate the pit ponies more after you read it. "In 1842, the Mines Act prohibited women from hauling coal in the pits and ponies took over the work." :aktion033: The article also stated that pit ponies were mostly...

I was surfing on the web and came across this quiz on miniature horses. One of the questions and the answer they said was correct follows. "Where did miniature horses originate from? Answer : One accepted theory of the origins of the Miniature Horse is they were developed to pull Queen...

    Color Question

I just purchased Redrock Flash Out, a son of Harts Tip Top Flash. He is solid white with crystal blue eyes that have pink around them and a black mark on each side of his muzzle. His registration papers list him as a Chestnut Pinto. I believe I need to change his color when I transfer him but...

    OK I'm ready to share....

We are very sorry for your loss. I think most of us have lost a special miniature friend and know they can not be replaced. We can only cherish the great memories they have left us. Best wishes, Bob and Sherry.

ANYONE ATTEND THE BAER CREEK SALE?

We were there. Turn out was low I think partly because of the weather and the fact that this was the first time we have had an auction in this area. The Baers did a wonderful job organizing everything and Tony did his usual great job with the pedigrees. We bought 6 horses, 2 yearling mares, 2...

    Diet Food for Minis?

Have read discussions on putting fat mares on a low fat, no sugar diet in combination with thyrol L. We have very little grass due to the drought and have round bails in the pasture and feed 2 cups of grain per day. Is there a low fat no sugar feed for minis? Thanks, Bob

Pix of our new colt! And some new problems!

We had a mare last year that lost her foal due to Toxima. The vet said there was no way to know she had the condition before the foal was born. The foal was born alive but her system was poisoned and she could not be saved. We had her at the vet within 2 hours. Any idea if treating her with...

Update on sick foal @ The Event

Thanks for the many inquiries and prayers for T Bar T Little Barbie. She was the foal that was passed out at her mothers side at the Event Auction. Mom was lot #12. It did not look like she would survive the 1 1/2 hour trip from Lufkin to our farm but she did. We pumped her full of every thing...
