A's only except for a handful who are A/R registered...we do have a biggie R only 35" hidden in the bush and are waiting on some R shows to get in gear to bring her out...
. I tend to like the look of B sized minis better, they seem to usually(although of course not always) be better proportioned. However, the A sized minis have more of a "cool" factor in terms of being so small. I think people are drawn to the smaller ones more so than the biggies because they are so tiny.
I've owned both A and B sized Minis in the past, from under 30" to almost 38", but just recently got into Shetlands and couldn't be happier with BG, my 43" Classic gelding (pictured in my avatar).
We own both A and B minis. Our stallions are A and B register, but our A size minis. Our small is 29.50 inches and tallest is 36.50 inches tall.We love them all.
We have two definite A's, at 33 and 33.75" a couple that are borderline, depending who measures them on which day they might be 34" or they might be 34.5", and the rest are B's, ranging from 35" right up to 37.75". I like the tall ones best.
We have both. Most are 32-34". We have 2 small 27" fillies but may not breed them. They are great for smaller kids and therapy. I like ones a bit taller because I hate to bend over too far to hug them....
We have both A & B minis. I personally prefer the smaller ones, but my husband prefers the taller ones. If he had his way though we'd have a team of Percherons instead of the minis! (But the minis are growing on him- especially the black ones (his Percherons were black)
CyndiD- Let me rephrase that- I have heard of & dealt with people that are just "Sure" B sizes are not as good as the A, Therefore, They think that B sizes are not worth much
Many people frown when I say- This foal will b about 36".... So on
