So far at my house we have been lucky. I really pray that doesn't change. The barn where my daughter keeps her big horses and where mine have gone to dry out and where they lived for a couple years is a different story.
There are two levels and it is a very large barn. She had her horses in the lower barn which was reserved for the owners horses and those of friends of the owner. Yesterday the far end of the lower barn where the hay was stored and there were no stalls the roof collapsed. Luckily the end over the stalls is intact at this point due to added support from the stall walls. My daughters horses were moved to the upper barn but there aren't enough stalls for the owner to move her horses up there. They are insured but they don't know if the insurance will replace the roof that fell or just call it gone at this point. They did say that any hay destroyed would be paid for by the insurance company and thereby replaced. We had just restocked the hay up there but it is covered by a tarp and we are hoping it isn't hurt at this point.
Then Erin of Mooreacres has been without power since Christmas except for a short spurt of power yesterday. They took that short opportunity to fill every water container they could find. But then last night the canopy over her Gmas front porch came crashing down in the middle of the night. She didn't know if they can even get out the front door until daylight. They might have to use the back door until the mess can be cleaned up out front. Her Christmas has turned just awful. We can't get to her because my daughters chains broke on her car and I don't have any for my truck.
Please everyone check in and let us know how you are doing.
