The question was...

In the Poodle, there are several sizes, Standard, Miniature, Toy, Tiny Toy and one which sounds like a small drinking vessel.

The answer was (according to them) 'Teacup'

I was shocked and it must have angered responsible Poodle breeders enormously. Poodles come in three sizes. Standard, Miniature and Toy. Tiny Toy and Teacup are cutesy names made up by those who breed irresponsibly (extra small any breed) and sell to those who think they are getting something special. Much like goldendoodles, shipoos and others. I really was shocked that Jeopardy would make such a dreadful mistake. I'm sure they were inundated with calls from the Poodle fancy.

I don't get to watch that show this time of year, but you are right there are only three varities of poodle. The term tea cup is a selling ploy, just like the term micro mini.

.

Of course, there is the STRETCH toy poodle...

Our toy poodle, Shadow, grew right out of any show dog potential when his legs just didn't know when to stop. At 16, he has the tiny toy poodle body perched on very long legs...and even at 16, they never stop moving!

I'm not sure how old he was, as it was before we took him in. He was originally purchased by an elderly lady, and we were asked to take him in when she was placed in a nursing home, and we became his permanent family after she died. He mourned his first mama for at least a year.

I saw that, and thought exactly what you did, Lizzie! I'd have thought the staff of 'Jeopardy' would have done their research better than THAT!

One wonders just where they get their information. Wikipedia perhaps?
