Sorry to bother you folks. However, both my mother/grandmother passed on and forgot to ask what they used for their home-remedy for a drawing salve.

Anyone have suggestions/remedies for a stubborn object in my foot?

Thank you.

Soaking in plain water as hot as you can stand it is the best way to get splinters or other things out.

Not that I've ever had to try it but someone told me once that if you have a splinter put a little Elmer's glue over it, let it dry, and peal the glue off. They said it worked for them, but like I said I never had to try it.

You are wanting Icthamol!

That's the black gooey drawing sauve. Wouldn't be without it!

I have a few helpful tips.

Take a small piece of bacon fat and tape over a splinter. Overnight the fat will draw the splinter out of the wound.

To get a splinter out put elmers glue on the area. Then after it drys, pull the splinter out when you pull off the glue!

When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, then pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and easily.

They say honey draws well too?

Hope this helps.

Salt Pork. We've used it for years and best of all it doesn't hurt or sting. I use it on my kids all the time. You know how kids and slivers are!!! LOL

We used it on my dad when he got a pressure treated sliver, the doctor said if we hadn't he would have gotten very sick.

It draws the splinters and infections right out. Put a thin piece on the area and cover it with a bandaide or gauze.
