I woke up this morning to torrential rain. The news is full of photos of the flooding. Most of Oklahoma is under flood watch.

We are fine but I was worrying about some of our members that are in low lying areas.

Please check in and let us know you are okay.

Mary

I saw some film footage on our news last night with horses standing in flood water that covered their backs! Poor babies. How can you get them out of a situation like that?

I hope everyone is okay.

Earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods, oh my!!!

(I work only eight miles from the earthquake in So. California last night. It was mild but gave us a start.

Hi Mary

Lots of rain here in Norman, especially Friday and Saturday. May get some small showers today as well. Had 2.09 inches being reported by the weather service Friday morning and the more Friday evening. When I left for the auction in Chickasha Saturday morning the Weather Service was saying that Chickasha was under heavy rain warnings and already had received over an inch of rain that morning. Also turned cold so was real uncomfortable for some of the clipped horses so the barn was kept shut up.

Called the young man that helps me out as he was to go pick up feed and bring to the house for me. He said Norman was rained on most of the day and almost got stuck down by the barn and he was a 4 wheel drive truck. It was so wet when I came home I left the trailer hooked up as it was too wet to turn it around. Must go out and get it move as I have to go into town and have lunch with Dad and do his shopping.

Hope everyone else is OK. Did take with Dawn Hahler and she was really watching their place as her property back up along the river. Last I heard from he they were OK.

Well you saw my horses a few weeks ago, they where mud balls then so you can just imagine now. The 2 yearlings I took to the show and are now naked have had to stay in the barn with their blankets on and of course the barns have all become muddy as well. I am trying so hard not to complain, really needed the rain. The ponds have crested, haven't been this full for several years.

We are in no danger of the floods as far as our house, it's at the top of the hill. Mary, did you brave the weather and go to the sale, sorry I punked out. It was really coming down here yesterday and lots of lightening.

Hi there! We are drying out now, but were pretty much under water earlier in the week. It rained 6.2" in less than 24 hours. It nearly washed out our driveway and did lay over the 6 wire, barb wire fence that is accross the road. Was scary to open the door and see that most of the pasture was under water. I have my mares with foals in that pasture, but never dreamed it would get that bad. I mean come ON! We have been in drought like conditions for over 6months.

I feel for you all down that way. We too have had lotsa rain and the lake behind us is in the back pasture. Last year I went fishing in my backyard and got a fat catfish.
